Roberto Martinez discussion

I think it's time for the manager to go. Just look at what he's doing to this place when we're playing alright, heaven forbid what will happen if we go on a bad run...

Both sides have some valid points. No need to polarise opposing sides as either wanting him fired or virtually wanking him off.

The answer is probably somewhere in the middle. He's good but there's weird stuff he does that limits us. He's young so hopefully should get better himself.

key factor. he's young but he has the winning mentality imo. two fairly major english trophies to his name as well, and keeping wigan up deserves a medal every time you do it ha

he's alright like, i have no idea what he sees in howard that doesn't warrant dropping and no idea why he's reluctant to play two out an out wingers. I think last season scarred him a bit and he thinks we need that little bit more defensive solidarity - whereas in his first season he wasn't worried about anything - he'd back us to outscore most teams in the league if we played an attack minded team. That's still true now, and he should resort to it.

That's what's difference about experience though, you get a bit scarred by the bad things and hold back a little. It's easier being a youngster when you haven't faield in some way,

So your expectations were higher than what you expected?

No, my expectations where what I expected to happen. I'm just not happy that my expectations bore out. In one comment you're trying to use the implied double meaning of 'expectations' to trap me for using the double meaning of 'expectations'. Don't really know what you're going for (apart from being a WUM).

The start to the season has been a slight underachievement in my opinion, one that appeared quite predictable given our summer failings. Can I make it any simpler than that?

Where did I say that?I was merely seeking clarification of his position which seemed to be the complete opposite of all his previous posts. If he'd have admitted he wanted Bobby sacked in the first place then I'd have had no problem with it.

As it is I'm feeling that I'm coming over all cruel about it, as it's wicked to mock the afflicted. Perhaps in future he should get his Carer to check his posts the next time he starts bouncing his headwand off the keyboard? It would save him a lot of embarrassment.

Maybe post a centred picture with a hilarious tag line mate.

I can't be arsed having that argument where people try to convince themselves that finishing in 6th place puts us in the top bracket of football clubs. My main point is that we are in need of much better footballers, especially in midfield, if we are to even stand a chance of properly competing with the big clubs. And that would mean replacing quite a few of our first team, who despite being described as the best side since the 80's every single year, never actually achieve anything, and frequently finish in mid-table positions.

We are a proper mid table club now like coz Everton are never going to finish top 6 under Martinez, not now, he's well and truely been too slow to set us in the top group of teams, in January in his first season he opted to get McGeady in, that told me he should be managing someone like Sunderland and ever since then we have not moved on, the end of this season will show us EXACTLY what we are and who has been right or wrong about him.......no excuses and no nonsense about the future

So if the day before the season started and you'd looked at the coming fixtures you'd have been unhappy to see us a quarter of the way through having only beaten twice, after facing 7 of the top 8 from last year, while being only 4 points off 4th after what you considered a summer of failings.

Just where and what would you have found satisfactory then?
