doesn't matter on what scale it is, you don't have to be at a world class ranking to play great football. martinez is proving that, as were swansea.

barcelona are still challenging for the title, they're still amazing to watch, hence the recent champions league game

we played really well first half, the second half started slowly (FOR BOTH SIDES) so dramatic subs weren't needed at that stage

Up until the goal we were largely mince, and a tad fortunate not to be further behind. We had a decent 30 minutes either side of HT, but were crying out for fresh legs by the hour mark imo.

Would you not rather play a little worse and then get a result? I know I would.

I don't hate Martinez at all I should say. It's very early in his time with us and there's lots of good signs. But I'm not going over the top here.

the point is, consistency. if some games you play great and then some games you play garbage, it'll bite you in the ass.. martinez has us playing to a really good standard week in week out.
i'd rather be aesthetically pleasing to watch week in week out as aposed to playing like west ham and scoring a corner and winning the game.

we had some great opportunities on the counter attacks and minimized the amount of chances created by arsenal, it was just Joel punching balls all over the place which was making us look under pressure..

I'm terms of style, yeah, great improvement.

We just need more goals.

Hope they come.

But if we won 1-0 every game from a header from a corner I'd be made up!

Not that we've scored from a corner for about 6 years mind you.

We've hit some highs this season in terms of our play - ironically Arsenal away in the League being one of them. But we've also been predictable, one paced and tbh dull to watch at times. We've also not created enough goal scoring opportunities too many times this season imo.

I think Martinez has done great so far, but I just worry that his 'style' is more important to him than it ought to be. I want to see us win first and foremost.

check the stats on every game this season, its been roughly 60% posession and lots of chances created, take a look, you'll be surprised on the amount of chances we create..

people seem to forget the chances we create because its at a slower pace now.. its not as fast and direct as with moyes..

Exactly.

Entertainment in a football context is subjective anyway, and winning is the goal, entertainment is merely a by product.
