Roberto Martinez discussion

I've just written this short letter (provisional) and I'm thinking of sending it off to the club:

To Roberto Martinez (c/o Everton FC),

Dear Roberto,

thank you so much for agreeing to be our manager two and a half years ago, triggering what has now become widely known as the rebirth of the blues. You led us out of a dark period in the club's history (indeed, many fans now refer to that period as our Dark Ages - a time when we had wandered far away from our heritage as a team renowned throughout the land as the leading proponent of what became known as Scientific Football).

You were left an ageing squad full of players who trembled in fear with the ball at their feet; yet you transformed these wrecks and gave them back their dignity as footballers, allowing them to realise their God given talents which the previous manager had forbidden they display. More than that though, you have overseen a revolution in attitude that sees our players wanting to dominate the opposition, no matter who they be or where we play them. This brand of swashbuckling football is now our trademark, our stamp. The rest of the nation have begun to sit up and take note of the rapier like attacks and imperious defending. They know that this is a club with a manager and young squad on the cusp of something truly remarkable.

So Roberto, once again I commend you and I thank you on behalf of all at GOT for your evangelising of the beautiful game, and your determination to see it practiced at a club that is no stranger to the tradition.

Regards,

davek

You need a hypen: God-given. Apart from that it's ready to go.

The only thing better than this performance and result would be for Davek to take this moment to name those of us who remained loyal during the dark days of last season. In my misty-eyed memory of those challenging days (what we will later refer to as "the long march"), it feels like that there were only a handful who remained true and are invulnerable to vaulting. Now is the time for them to enter the Davek hall of fame. Of course, this must be proceeded by a number of show trials in which the plotters get the opportunity to rat out their fellow saboteurs before the humiliation of compulsory membership of RAWK. Surely for symbolic purposes, Fat Stan needs to be the first.

He's too busy analizing apparently.

He'd see that you start your opening paragraph without a capital and that you'd written the whole thing in blue crayon and instantly think 'Not that f'ing Matt Damon again'

Show no mercy to the plotters, i offered them a chance to repent earlier in the season, those that refused deserve the wrath of Dave

Keep all our best players. I truly believe from the beginning of this season we are 3 quality players away for challenging for top 4. Our young guns are amazing. They just need 3 more top quality players in that squad and we are onto something here.
Will we get the funding though? That's for another thread.
Get 3 more top class players in, in the required positions and we should be aiming for 1st place. Deulofeu makes a huge difference to how we play, the entire side looks a different beast when he is on his game. So frustrating that his derby contribution was so lacklustre. We could do with a similar player on the left (Pursuit of Yarmolenko would show we are aware of this), though I am more frustrated at the long term goalkeeping position. Whatever this season holds we do appear to be moving forward again. Will be tough to keep the squad intact though with so many admirers and media hacks desperate to sell them. I noted that for all our great football today Sky/Charlie Nicholas seemed subdued by our total dominance and excellent play.

Its a strange situation when weve destroyed the last two teams 6-2 and 4-0 and I've come out the ground frustrated that we haven't scored more. We put the game to bed and shut up shop really. The worry now is that if Deulofeu gets injured do we have another game plan. Villa's display today is the worst i have ever seen at Goodison and that includes when Ekoku put 3 past us in the 90's. Martinez has played a blinder getting Gerard back and more importantly making him a regular.
