Roberto Martinez discussion

The only thing better than this performance and result would be for Davek to take this moment to name those of us who remained loyal during the dark days of last season. In my misty-eyed memory of those challenging days (what we will later refer to as "the long march"), it feels like that there were only a handful who remained true and are invulnerable to vaulting. Now is the time for them to enter the Davek hall of fame. Of course, this must be proceeded by a number of show trials in which the plotters get the opportunity to rat out their fellow saboteurs before the humiliation of compulsory membership of RAWK. Surely for symbolic purposes, Fat Stan needs to be the first.
...heads must be shaved; you know, public humiliation like

My Damascus moment, my most valued and cherished learnings of the past 24 hours? :finally getting to metaphysical grips with the existential primary of 'everything'. I think I speak for many GOTers when I say "today was a day of discovery, today was a day when many of us found our own fulcrum of self awareness".
@chicoazul cops a lot of cranial-size related jibes...personally, I think the man's a genius.

I reckon it'd be a great Bond film title. We've had Quantum of Solace...and now we've got Fulcrum of Sentience.
Thank you Chico....best preview EVER!!!

I'm trying. By god I am trying! But no matter how much I want to believe in him, how much I want him to succeed and how much I want to just feel naturally positive about the man, I just can't help but feel very worried and ultimately negative about the appointment of Roberto Martinez as manager of Everton Football Club. I know there's an obvious divide in Everton fans' views and opinions of this issue, but what about the man wearing the mask like me. The man who's putting a smile on and forcing himself to look and "feel" excited about Martinez, but deep down knows that something just doesn't fit. I know I'm not the only one wearing that mask of jubilance covering a face of concern, worry and gloominess. Having watched the full appointment of Martinez press conference on YouTube, I think it's blatantly obvious that Kenwright is wearing that mask too. Some say this is a time of promise and future glory, with the players we have, the football Martinez' teams play and the fact that we're taking on a manager who won what Moyesey never could (a trophy!), and I'm happy for those people. Others say this is a huge mistake, with a manager that's never progressed a bottom five team which was finishing higher in the league before he took over and now under his reign got relegated, and I'm happy for those people too. At least you openly know where you stand. But those of you wearing the mask of delight covering up a deep down despair, put your hand up and make yourself known, because I know there's more than just me and Blue Bill.

Wow.. The fact that he pulled off a miracle almost every year at wigan and the extent of his loyalty to his Chairman at the time you ignore. As well as ignoring an FA Cup victory against the richest club in the country.

At EFC he has filled the place with excitement, bought wisely ( not one single bad signing ) and everyone can see that we are progressing. With the worst Chairman in the entire Premier League - no one invests less - the club has survived losing Moyes and we are on the edge of success. Maybe the League Cup who knows.

Viva la mascara..

Lovely prose - and if only you would give lessons to the RS over at RAWK you could both make a fortune and help the rest of us understand WTF they are on about.

My least favourite post on GOT. Ever.
Remember when the thread was called "who else is wearing the mask?" too?
Jesus wept.
