Roberto Martinez discussion

The Moyes- Martinez chestnut is getting a bit long in the husk isn't it? Yes, there are some people who want RM to trip up. These people are a disgrace. But thankfully, these Phil Wallings are few and far between.

I haven't seen a single person state that they want Martinez to trip up. I have seen some people highlight legitimate concerns, and some people being dismissive of those who have declared unconditional love for Martinez, and people arguing against those who think Martinez can do no wrong. But I haven't seen a single person state that they don't want him to do well.

I am pleased about that, but with all due respect, just because someone hasn't seen something (eg Halley's comet), it doesn't mean that that something doesn't exist.

So you have concerns, not sure why you think they're legitimate mind, when you then seem to think that being "dismissive" is also your prerogative.

It's sound though mate. You just keep on telling us that your concerns are legitimate. It's totally sound for you to keep criticising/raising legitimate concerns, because after all, you've not once said you don't want him to do well.

There are signs of a confused mind in this post

Well I don't personally believe that there are Evertonians who want Martinez to fail, and there have been no such Evertonians making that point on this message board.

It's quite simple and entirely logical when you think about it, when we were doing well before Christmas nobody was expressing too much concern because there wasn't any, his new system was working well. Since then, he has had a disastrous transfer window, our form has dropped off considerably, and some people are raising concerns with a footballing system that can be dangerous and in recent weeks hasn't been remotely entertaining.

I consider that to be a normal reaction to events, and it irks me the way people continue to laud what is being presented, often describing the presentation as enthralling and infinitely superior to previous styles of play that have been witnessed at Goodison Park, when it isn't true and is at odds with reality.

What?

If I have understood this correctly, then yes, opposing arguments tend to be dismissive of each other. I maintain that my position is closer to reality, and that the exaggeration of Martinez performance thus far aught to be dismissed because it is currently at odds with reality.

However it is clearly a work in progress, but an interim assessment should be based on reality, not exaggeration, and certainly not on unconditional love.

I agree entirely, anyone with an even remotely negative opinion on anything obviously wants this club to fail and should be hung by the neck until dead.

Don't let them get away with this having opinions nonsense, mate.

You really have a bee in your bonnet don't you mate? Ok, how's this? You are 100% right. OK? x

If disagreeing with a viewpoint constitutes having 'a bee in your bonnet', then yes I do. But I don't think it does, I think it is just someone airing their alternative viewpoint on a message board that has been designed for Everton fans to air their viewpoints on what is going on at Everton.
