Roberto Martinez discussion

I'll be disappointed if he doesn't reward Besic with a start or two after yesterday.

Keeping everyone feeling valued and involved seems to be a bit of an underrated skill in football management, and I think Martinez should be more mindful of the useful players that are left isolated unless a member of the Bobby Gang takes a knock.

We watched the blueprint yesterday of good attacking and good energy and good defending as a unit. If we can work as hard as Spurs do off the ball, we would be where they are in the league as well.
They are a very good side no doubt, but I thought second half they looked tired and disorganised.
Takes allot to keep that tempo up for 90mins, but they have a good squad to try and keep it going.
Our squad does not compare to theirs....not yet

The notion that having a team that entertains (and the rest of the country labels as The Entertainers, in respect of that) is a problem is off the charts mad.

Basically, "the experts" like Sourness and Carragher are saying: 'yes, it's great to play attacking attractive football...but dont do it anymore...commit less to attack...boot the ball downfield and hope it doesn't come back...know your place and start playing like West Brom".

We need that advice like we need two Kopites telling us what's best for us....hold on.....

I thought the exact same, some Arsenal old chap saying the same on radio this morning, says he is sick of this pass pass pass.......HE WATCHES AND LOVES ARSENAL though!!

I don't think Moyes or anybody else for that matter could control Drenthe's actions in the run up to that Semi Final - he let us down big time, same applies for the Distin error, we were well in control up until that point, its just one of them things for me, nobody could influence that mistake.

The cup final in 09 was a tough one to take, again could you blame moyes for Arteta, Jagielka and I think Yakubu being injured ? That was the spine of our team really, again lady luck wasn't on our side, I do think he lost it by playing Osman and Hibbert but I wouldn't like to throw away ten years of steady improvement based on one final and a lot of luck.
so we lost a semi due to a little fat dwarf going AWOL
Tactics lost us that semi final nothing else

Disagree mate, we were right in that Semi until distin's mistake and we had a direct winger acting a complete tool the day before the game, left us with McFadden on the left if I remember.

Apologies for using foul language saying the word 'left winger' I know bobby doesn't like the idea......

I am being sarcastic.
You seem very happy going backwards under el coco though

No I am not happy about going backwards and no one is. But quite a few of us believe it is a necessity or to word it better 'a taken' so we are then primed to take 2 steps forward. Our football is much better but we still have not acquired the balance as of yet. The football pre RM to the Football we play now is chalk and cheese. Just for the time being I am satisfied that our football is becoming progressive slowly and will gladly sacrifice a couple of positions short term to see this team develop and grasp the new concept of football that is modern and could possibly have us challenging at sometime. In 2.5 years time if we are still in the same position then I will gladly say time is up and move on.

Lets be honest its not just moyes that had a mental block with the top four

It's how Moyes went about it though, it used to piss me off some off his quotes like 'knife to a gunfight' 'Happy to get out of Old Trafford alive'
also saying something along the lines of 'The difference with being Man U manager and Everton manager playing Chelsea, being Man U manager I can go out and try and win the game' it all made him come across as small time.

Me too. The way he changed the game because he simply mixed it in the middle and this stopped Spurs control of the game. He is also very good on the ball and has that determination that looks lacking in some players. He hasn't played for a while and maybe hasn't got 90 mins in his legs yet but he needs a run out

Yeah i agree.
Its great going backwards and one win in 8 games onwards and upwards eh

That's fine though because at some indeterminable point in the future it will all come good. If you don't believe it and think our best players will leave this summer, then you're not patient.

No Chelsea having better players than us then did
Did we play Chelsea in the Semi Final
