How can you say if stones played under moyes he wouldn't have advanced as quickly.
Stupid comment as usual.
Thats pretty clear thing imo too. It's only quessing ofcourse but with moyesys style of play and his general reluctance to give youngsters responsibility ...in that Light banno is right

He might have made Stones a better defender. I don't see how Stones playing in the worst home defence in the league is good for his career. He's starting to now be questioned which is absolutely absurd.

Mirallas' behaviour didn't help his own cause, did it? He's competing for a place with Kone, Deulofeu and Lennon, and perhaps Cleverley too.

He's got to wait for the next opportunity. He can't expect to just walk into the team after his suspension at somebody else's expense.
deulofeu and lennon play predominantly on the right, cleverley has mostly been playing centrally recently and there is no way kone should be starting ahead of him. not sure anybody could disagree with that

Was it answered today?

Prefer it to the Newcastle win! They hit the post twice though and might've had the game out of sight before we got moving.

+'s then:

Besic, Lennon's goal, improved energy, and playing counter attack (albeit swamping as opposed to defending) at least acknowledged where we've dropped, what - 12 points on paper - of late. Also, improved concentration 2nd half, decent subs. RM learning? HOPEFULLY.

I was a bit perturbed to read he's appointed some new doc to address fitness/conditioning, as if that's the answer to our school boys (I mean age, not ability) in defence! Positively again though, hopefully it's an aid and not the cure.

Whilst acknowledging the reduced performances against those around us in mid table has made an available CL place less rather than more possible, we've got cups, young talent and jags return to look forward to in the 2nd half.

I think all mid-table clubs would want to be us, a run could see us in CL, a cup would help keep the talent.

C - O - Y - B.

I trust Kev to rise to the occasion should that happen

Interesting, what's mirallas record against city. Any goals / assists? That sounds sarcastic, it's not meant to! Lots to learn from the Watford game as well.

They're wobbly without Kompany ( whose stop start recovery is a lesson we need to learn for Jags ), I think Rom can batter them but he needs a rest too.

Sort of see you're point theoretically re: people questioning stones, but are they actually doing that ( beyond the little 'cameo' vs spurs!)? Madness if so, hence why I liked your post.

Read it properly and you might notice you are wide of the mark again. I said more credit to Martinez than Moyes for Stones as Martinez is the one who introduced him to the first team. As with Barkley it was a 'don't be afraid of making mistakes'. It is speculation but would Moyes have accepted mistakes from John Stones? Would John Stones career advanced at the rate it is now? I doubt it yet we could possibly get 40-50m for him because Martinez let him play without fear.

He got £25m for Lescott who he signed from the lower leagues. He'd probably have given him a run out at right back (just as he did Lescott at left back) before switching him to the centre when a space opened up.

This whole Moyes never played youngsters thing is overdone. He played plenty, the likes of Hibbert, Osman, Baines weren't always 30.
