Of course I was aware mate Besic started but you, me and every Evertonian on this forum knows he has favourites who are undroppable and McCarthy and Barry if both fit would be in that centre midfield 2 game in game out game in game out ( as proved last season time and time again ).

I'm not arsed how Martinez stumbles upon a winning team/formula but it's important that he does and if that means someone like McCarthy is injured and Besic takes his chance with both hands then great.

Just to confirm for a bit of balance as well but Martinez says Mirallas is class, will have a massive season, won't welcome any sales yet has hasn't had a sniff. Is Martinez lying, telling the truth or chatting wham as per?

What the man says and what the man does is very very different.

I'm more than happy to let this season pan out however it may mate because he ain't getting sacked and I'm not screaming from the rooftop to be sacked. But I think it's justified he be called out on a lot of piss poor things he says and does ( for balance I'm always willing to list the positives I think he does ) and as mentioned previously, 11th in the league isn't good enough but I'm hoping beyond hope we can have a strong 2nd half of the season..

In terms of what he chats - its purely for the cameras who pay the money to keep this sordid Sky league going....what he says behind doors is Im sure completely different. He's not going to come out and say Mirallas is a lazy, whining good-for-nothing is he as that will decrease the price if an offer does come in.

Ah well, if we're honest, we only allow political discussion as we see fit - the rules state no political/religious discussion so that exception is at staff discretion. Potential for aggro, and past experience etc. By rights we should close down any political thread but this is not for this thread.

Same, i got banned as someone took offence to me calling corbyn a "creature" and saying the labour party were idiots to vote him as leader.

@davek well, both are CBs so other than Jags we have Stones there, then McCarthy and Besic perhaps in the centre and Lukaku who all could take the armband.

I feel were lacking one key signing with leadership skills though who takes us to another level playing wise and captain wise....like a Keane or Vieira type.

Depends of course also on Martinez himself and who he would like to have as captain, he may also go for a flair player such as a Ronaldo type like Portugal did.

interesting to see, also Jags should be club captain next season and not team captain i think.
