When May came and went you'd only remember the glory of the cup win. I mean what's it about if not winning a trophy or two?
Sadly I need both.

They do aye, and so do we but how long before the only way we can tempt them is CL? Realistically. If it were me, a cup win would trump a solid top half finish. Players want a trophy.
This is true.PS.
There is time yet for Everton to win something and storm up the league.
Battle is joined.
Those shirking their duty need to keep quiet. Or do one.
Don't get me wrong, I think Moyes (and Kenwright) was the best thing to happen to Everton at a time when all was bleak and had been for years (should never have let Royle go but another matter) and heading for oblivion.I enjoyed how we played in Moyes last few seasons to be honest, nice football, good counters, quick passing, good goals and defensively good as well..
I also like our current passing play (bored me first two seasons but is looking sweet now its sped up considerably), but we need to work a lot on our decision making, especially with counters.
We have had the numerical advantage on counters quite a few times this season and made the wrong choice on most of them, think that needs a little tweaking, if we can break with Coleman, Deu, Lukaku and Barkley, sometimes Mirallas too, and not pass it to their CB or too wide of the goal we will be utterly terrifying to play against, especially if you are not the quickest at the back. Imagine seeing that lot coming at you
But given the choice I would trade points for what people consider 'a boring style' any day. The signs are there that we won't have to though, and we can start getting both.. just a bit more time needed.
I disagree Dave, we should be playing every game in the same manner as we have played the last three. My reasoning is that against the lesser sides we will get more attacking options and still maintain our defensive stability, the result of doing this would be less goals conceded while still having the ability to score= A WINHorses for courses. I'd ne amazed and annoyed if he didn't approach pony sides like that with an all out attacking display to gain the initiative and run a few goals in. The type of defensive resilience we've seen in the last few weeks should only be seen in games like that when we have built up such leads.
Not for me. We need a different shape when we play non-elite teams. And despite all the criticism he gets it involves having Kone practically partnering Lukaku up front and Barkley in a free role unencumbered by defensive duties.I disagree Dave, we should be playing every game in the same manner as we have played the last three. Don't be a complete K..B Dave this is not about the players, this is about the success and longevity of EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB. The players will look after themselves, to survive in the top flight indefinitely Everton need to be reasonably successful. Finishing in the lower half of the league is not good enough if we want to attract good players and also sustain our fan base, which in my opinion is already suffering from a lack of youthA cup win and 17th = great season.
20 years and counting without a trophy. NEA where we finish as long as PL status is secured.

I'm happy to argue that one with you my man..Don't get me wrong, I think Moyes (and Kenwright) was the best thing to happen to Everton at a time when all was bleak and had been for years (should never have let Royle go but another matter) and heading for oblivion.
Enjoyed how we played too, shame we never could find that elusive (consistent ) 20 a season front man with too many false dawns (Johnson, Beattie, The Yak and Jelevic all not what we hoped) I'm sure the sky could have been the limit for Moyes and Everton had he found one.
Martinez has the striker in Lukaku and the suppliers for him and we do have arguably the best defence in the league, they just need to get the two parts to gel now and push on.
For all people's moans of Martinez out, no one have mentioned a suitable replacement as there isn't one.
Get behind the manager the team and remember EVERTON AREN'T WE?
I find this a little surprising especially when I think of Palace at home and Norwich away where we should have scored about 15 in total.
I'm not arsed about the players - cogs in a wheel as far as I'm concerned.Don't be a complete K..B Dave this is not about the players, this is about the success and longevity of EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB.
