But since you have brought it up, I would be delighted if we win a cup but not at the expense of our league status, otherwise we will become a Wigan, Portsmouth or Birmingham and that is not good enough for me personally. Signing the players we have over the last couple of years with midtable finishes doesn't seem to have hurt us.

Winning trophies and leagues is what Everton Football Club is all about.

Our club has to remember that.

Martinez was the manager that did the simple thing of reminding the players that Everton have a history of winning things.


I'm going to be insufferable to @MoutsGoat if Mirallas scores us a winner in a semi- and then a final this summer.

Ive been saying all season that Mirallas should play every game, so pipe down please.

I think we are not out of the mix for 4th plus. We just need to win games with frequency now.

We do need silverware also.

We need to get over our silverware psychological-barrier.

Silverware should be every seasons' objective. A normality at Everton.

4th place you'll need 70 points minimum. That means 42 points from the last 51 available. No chance.

I said all this season that good cup runs plus a 60+ point season would be a very decent season given the rebuilding. I stick to that.
