I have re-read my post twice and still cannot see the bit where I mention the cup. But since you have brought it up, I would be delighted if we win a cup but not at the expense of our league status, otherwise we will become a Wigan, Portsmouth or Birmingham and that is not good enough for me personally. Roberto has shown he knows how to play attacking and defensive football, he now needs to marry them up so that we aren't just good to watch we also have an end product.

I cant get fixated on league position. If it's not a CL spot it's utterly worthless in these times of mega tv cash payments. League place money is relatively unimportant. The only thing that makes sense is going full pelt for the cups to give us a) the joy of winning something after 20 years, and b ) raise our profile.
