Roberto Martinez discussion

@ianefc is that your biggest fear, that Lukaku and Stones will leave? I dont think they will but its important to remember that they are individuals and can be replaced. I always like to think big picture which is why since Royle was manager ive hoped we would start building something like Martinez is now.

Attacking football + yoing players for the long term. Its exciting and it means we have conveyor belts of talent being improved, gaining experience etc.

When Lukaku and Deulofeu, Stones etc have a couple of seasons with talent around them in each position and quality depth then i'll judge them.

I dont know why they wouldnt sign extensions myself as they have everything they need at the club...unless they are impatient for silverware which we may provide this season.

@bluestevon i just think they will be affected by tiredness and lack of depth soon...last 6 games i think they will struggle. If we were in Utd position and signed Butland and Yarmolenko this window id put money on us to overtake them.

@davek whats your thoughts on mirallas? Is he in the shop window or do you think martinez will keep him and play him?

@Khalekan remember what we had under Walter Smith....i remember being so excited to see Dacourt, materazzi and Bakayoko signed + simonsen for th future and collins a steady eddy upgrade on what we had.....and he left us with memoriea of hughes gazza and ginola.

Or mike walker who seemed like a great appointment at the time but was hated...

The sacking of Royle until now has seen so much negative football....Royle played exciting football and Martinez is doing the same.

i wonder if royle or duncan ferguson were the manager if they wouldnt get much more praise than martinez.

The team thats top of the league, not a single world class player in their entire squad, we have 5 of them, we are 11th.

...3rd and on the slide.

I feel sorry for anyone who thinks that jibbering idiot Ranieri is dragging that pile of tosh to a CL place....even more sorry for them if they think they have a better future than Everton.

Lol.

Mirallas is tosh and needs punting. Use the cash to get a keeper in. Job done.

The players panicked again, 2-0 and we started hoofing the ball rather than keeping possession what can roberto do about that?

No mate, they kept losing possession, I'd have been happier with some hoofing...in fact loads of it, loadsa hoofing might have brought the points home today...

In fact wellying too, I'd have preferred wellying, toey's...the lot.

The best teams protect leads end of.

The best teams don't let 2-0 leads slip away from home.

The best teams can mix their play and adapt to a particular in game situation.

The best teams know the importance of setpieces and practice them accordingly.

The best teams get all the 'luck' and aren't always on the wrong end of it.

The best teams dont have tim coward and no left winger...and a dozen players who need punting though.

once we have the squad build then this style will be great.

It's just one weird season following the blues,we are definitely playing our best stuff since the mid-80's but shooting ourselves in the foot nearly every game, this month is massive/pivotal,both for Martinez and Everton as a club IMHO.

Right now they do Dave better position with an inferior squad you keep thinking pretty football and a few draws is all rosy aye.

So you agree that the manager is to blame? (im not referring to today in particular)

He's the one who picks the keeper and decides who plays where.
