Roberto Martinez discussion

Ok then is Besic doesnt back heel the ball to Costa, would costa have scored from that passage of play?

Would Giroud would have scored if the man marking him actually marked him? None of this jags shouted, there was a reason why distin was stood where he was.

Would Sigurrdson score in that attack if distin doesnt do a diving header? I mean he nearly scored himself!

Does Campbell score if Howard jumping un apposed punches or catches the ball?

Does Boalese score if osman wasnt stood still with the ball for some reason? Or if osman tries to chase him afterwards?

Theres 5 examples of unenforced errors, where it wasnt the defence it was the man who gave the goal away. MAjor difference between that and two centre halves not picking their man up and having them run in behind them for example.

And those 5 examples, 4 of them cost us points / the cup run.

Sounds like bad defending to me.

I certainly do not want Martinez out, yet. But I really can't stand the over exaggeration of his 'achievements' and his ' breath taking' brand of football.

People earlier on in this thread are coming out with nonsense about us apparently just shrugging our shoulders after embarrassing league defeats or cup exits under Moyes. It just simply isn't true. We fumed just as much under Moyes, and it was Moyes who raised supporters' expectations so we are expecting to qualify for Europe, not Martinez.

The truth is Martinez has taken a team that regularly finished between 5th and 8th during Moyes tenure, and he has repeated the feat. Apparently Martinez will always be remembered as the manager who restored hope! What? He hasn't done anything yet. The level of change in performance and expectation is nothing compared to the drastic changes seen under Moyes.

Please spare me the references to his breath taking brand of football, it is often boring, and extremely predictable.

The "fume" is just coming from the same old manic depressive bell's that infest the forum with their regular brand of tripe.

Last season Martinez was able to squeeze out the extra points we knew were there under Moyes if the latter had been less cautious. That's why we were all over the moon, and rightly so because we did it by being bolder in our play (Martinez realizing that the league is basically pony beyond the elite 4).

This summer he's taken his eye off the ball (I'm not comfortable with his media work, tbh) and his transfer activity neglected a much overdue defensive overhaul. IMO we won't recover until we sort that out - January at the earliest. Barkley's return will steady the ship though.

Martinez plc still has a high stock value...but he's trying everyone's patience right now.

Apart from record number of points in the prem. Which most seasons wouldve seen us comfortably finish top 4.

Most amount of wins in his first 50 games.

PLaying football which all pundits and neutrals aknowlodge as being better and attractive.

Competing comfortably in games with the so called big boys, were as we once just bent over and hoped they would be gentle on us.

Treating our club and its people whether staff or legends and fans, with respect.

Talking us up as big boys instead of plucky little nobodys.

I've fallen out with him. And not in the Moyes way where he would piss me off but at the end I'd calm down and be like 'oh Moylllez', I'm actually fed up with him.

Your only unclear evidence to back that statement up is that he did not sign any new defenders as you wanted him to, therefore you are continuously using it as a stick to beat him with and trying to brain wash other silly sausages on this forum into your way of thinking.

If we kept 5 clean sheets on the bounce now that would all look a bit silly wouldn't it?

Maybe, just maybe he thought he had enough in the locker with the defence that was only bettered by 2 teams in the league last year and he did not mystically forsee such an array of glaring errors by individuals.

Just a thought!

Shush, the people have spoken, he is a Catalan Clown and does not know how to organise his defence...all of your points are invalid! :whip:
