Roberto Martinez discussion

Bilic has been here 6 months...after 6 months under martinez we was also ace....

Avb, remi garde, advocate, solskjear, lvg

Advocate and LVG both fair shouts - although could argue that both had seen much better days and that the style of football they espouse had been found out over time, like players most managers have a shelf life and then downhill - both these arrived well on the downside to what they once where

Avb - think he has been judged unfairly - Chelsea he struggled against the dressing room from early on and as Mourinho has showed at that club that can be fatal, at spurs he was good - 55% win percentage for a start after replacing Rednkanapp who traditionally leaves a train wreck behind him player wise, been successful since moving to Russia as i have seen first hand, IF he ends up back in the prem at a decent team have few doubts he will be a success mate

Remi Garde - think like with Bilic too early to say - inherited a terrible mess of a club and have to say they have improved a lot since he arrived - just with that personnel hard to see him doing much

Solskjaer - arguable he had bene found out a bit in Norway before he came as his second season was a lot poorer their, and well Cardiff and that owner mate...

No mate, I expect much better, I was speaking in relative terms regarding his previous record for talking rubbish, not basing my expectations for the club on one post match interview.

Might be wise to avoid swearing when quoting staff too.

Sorry about the swear filter didge mate - thought it would get flagged up as [deleted etc]

What i was saying though is are we now prepared to just swallow what Martinez says due to it not being as bad as normal in a presser, he has a long history of saying what we want to hear when needed and then doing squat about it

And lost to Swansea yesterday, Stoke recently, Leicester too. Anybody is capable of lifting themselves in a cup game that they are expected not to win.

I wouldn't be reading much into the City game, if anything you would say that was a freak result looking at our form over the season.

We beat City 2-1 at home in the League Cup.

We drew 0-0 away at City in the League.

Perhaps we will get another freak result at the Etihad on Wednesday.

yar...manner of draws have not helped

when moyes was here and things didnt seem to be going well i dont want him to go, i wanted him to CHANGE...unfortunately he had been here TEN years!

i want , think and hope martinez can improve

me too.

he will get his contract time I think barring a disaster. Unless we improve drastically I cannot see an extension being signed during his next three seasons. I don´t think even a cup win would trigger an extension if the league form has not improved.

I hope he can get it right as I like so much of what he does.

Yesterdays performance was like going back to last season. Despite the recent run of bad results, our threat was always there and we looked like we were very close to kicking onto the next level. Yesterday was just crap, apart from a few bright moments from Del, but he can't be expected to do it all on his own.

Hopefully yesterday was just a blip made worse by 2 early enforced subs. Pressure is on for Wednesday and Newcastle now
