Roberto Martinez discussion

Fans can always force a Manager out. If it was to get too bad then it would be up to the match goers to force it. IE by demonstrating.
the same fan base who clap a picture of kenwright despite him withholding transfer funds from his manager, once for 2 years?!

the same fan base who still believed in large parts that we were going somewhere with moyes even after 10 years?

the same fans who defend martinez's poor form over a season and a half?

We are no closer to demonstrating than we are of being taken over. we are more likely to erect a statue of moyes for his tenure here.

Yes what a attacking team we are took us until nearly the last ten minutes of the game to have are first shot on goal second half.
Master class of attractive attacking footy .

We may have lost but we lost with an intensity which shows the players desire to not lose the opportunity we have to be in a great moment. Add 3 points to our total por favor

martinez's credit? Del was being hailed as the next great thing out of the barca academy and lukaku was clearly a top striker in the making when chelsea moved for him even then, his 15 goals or so for west brom kind of confirmed that.

You can give martinez credit for McCarthy and Besic and to a certain extent Mori (succesful centre half in argentina) but that is pretty much it. Jesus we went to MK dons and brought back galloway over Alli! lol

But interesting you say he was obliged to sell his best players every year. So like it has been said many times, what happens off another poor season if we don't win the cup? Lukaku's agent has him ask for a transfer, Stones asking for a transfer again, Barkley has his head turned by say united or city, barca want del back, hell even a european team look at besic and plan a fair size bid. What happens then? The same as wigan? selling his best players?

Lukaku wasn't good enough for Chelsea.

And Deulofeu was a failure at Sevilla. The Spanish newspaper Marca selected him in their La Liga 'Worst team of the season'!

Roberto has nurtured them both.

Don't you like Galloway? And what about Barry?

galloway is unproven. He is a centre half who has had a turn at left back. He did very well at left back but until we see him at his best position it is hard to judge him.

Barry is a seasoned veteran of the league, hard to be impressed with someone who has been kinda spoken of as a decent player in his career, you just kinda expect him to know what he is doing.

Why wasn't lukaku good enough for chelsea mate? Because the recently sacked mourhino said so? that apply to de bruyne, cuadrado and mata to name just a few? He got it massively wrong selling lukaku same as de bruyne and mata, if given a second chance they wouldn't be so quick to get rid of any of them, let alone Rom.

Del was a failure at seville yes, but then nobody really knows why. Could have been the manager or him being a tit, may just not have worked out for him, personally i don't know. either way, do you think we would even have been interested in him if we hadn't loaned him in the first place? And more so we only loaned him because he was offered to us. If anything both rom and del were incredibly massive breaks for the manager who didn't say no, but roberto is owed no praise for them, hell del still gives the ball away half the time!

Then at least we would have something to shout about.

But cups generally don't mean anything about moving forward, ask Portsmouth, Middlesborough, Bolton, Millwall and Aston Villa who were in a final last season..

Gives us Europe which is still a pull for players. But the team is good enough to win trophies and compete for 4th.

Winning a cup would paper over the cracks IMO.
Significant underachievment

I agree, i think it would obviously great if we won a cup but if there is no improvement in the league position then it still wouldn't be a very good season, which is a shame because i would be over the moon if we won something finally this season but the league position would hanging over my head.

He's a maladaptive gobshite imo. He thinks the Premier League will be forced to adapt to his mental style of football, and his absolute gobshite philosophies, well guess what Roberto, it's you who needs to adapt, and you will end up losing your job if you don't.
