Roberto Martinez discussion

Goes beyond the last five games though. We've lost three times in the last 12 games and won 6, conceding just 8 times. If we keep that up for the rest of the season in the PL it'd get us top 7. If we convert more draws into wins we could still be on for a top 6 finish.

Talk is cheap though. A win against Villa a week tonight and a win against West Ham would put us into a good position and leave us with a base to launch an attack on Chelsea in the cup. There's still a lot to play for this season.
A sensible reply? Who's hacked your account pal?

Your statement that I have underlined is the key - I agree with you 100% on these two points. The unspoken inference of course is that if Martinez cannot organise the squad and the tactics to achieve either of these goals then he is not making progress, and the recent run of five results, or twelve, or however many you change it to in your next post, will be viewed as nothing more than a flash in the pan.

Time will tell. Fingers crossed that we can give Villa a hiding and then carry momentum into what will be a very tough West Ham game.

You see when we're on a bad run its "let's wait til the seasons over before judging it" but when the greatest footballing team in the country wins a couple of games in a row that goes out the window

The reality suggests we will struggle to secure a top 7 place IMO, which really would be an utter joke with this group of players.

Defensive solidity, consistent results and a real go at winning the cup are my requirements from now till May.

The signs are good, last season Robles came in and stamped a claim, he was dropped at the first chance, Galloway also came in at 1 point and looked a player, he was dropped for Baines at the first chance, the last few weeks we have seen Robles retain a place, Oviedo and Mori have all been given a chance and taken it and retained them.

Its subtle changes that suggest hes starting to be aware of whats needed.

He still talks utter tosh in every interview and really should keep his mouth firmly shut.

But sadly the battle for this season is over.

Battle lines were drawn and Martinez marched The Cult over the top where to be frank, they met with little Plotter resistance, they scattered like the knee jerking Mark Hughes Cultists they are.

A few have wondered out and braved the Atomic winter, but they are damaged and its unlikely they will ever be able to enter a battlefield with the mental state this long battle has left them with.

Clean your weapons and prepare your pie charts, we resume again in May.

Peace is now declared.
I will await the last 12 games to see what el coco has really learnt.
You talk a lot of sense though your just in the wrong camp.
The cup is a bonus for me would love to win it but i won't bash coco with it if we go out to chelsea.
There is no hate from the plotters i respect a lot of the cult especially davek who has fought well.
Peace is the way forward but i still think he is out of his depth but a good run in the league and i will lay off him

4th best away record in the PL
4th highest scorers
Team that's gone furthest in both cup competitions than any other PL team
Consistently the best footballing team in the country

These are the reasons why your point of view only resonates with Paul Merson and Joey Barton.

As usual David, you're more concerned with how we are perceived in the public eye with this phantom footballing way.

The reality doesn't lie, look at the points and results. Dress it up as you like, you can't hide from the truth david

I have my doubts also, ive never hidden that fact, im not a true cultist like David, who sees no evil, hears no evil, he defo speaks evil tho.

The season as a whole has been a farce, but inbetween his Chemical David rants hes made a lot of sense, 7 defeats all season, the same amount as City, who sit in 4th, 46 goals scored, 2 less than Vardy FC who top the table, thats the good, the bad is clearly only 8 wins and 35 goals against in only 26 games.

The majority of the fanbase, plotters, cult and the fencists have all demanded that Howard be dropped, it happened due to injury and the turnaround has been clear and concise, the WBA was a minor blip, whilst we peppered their goal the finishing on the whole was very wayward, take in isolation you mark it down as "1 of those games" and you move on, but the truth is, it wasnt an isolated incident, its more of a theme of the last 18months, which is a major concern.

Ive never stated I want Martinez sacked and meant it, ive never actually wanted him sacked, ive been close, last season when we went abar 20 games without winning, that was me, on the edge, but it came around and I jumped onboard for letting him try again. Hes tried again and its utterly grim, AGAIN, so I would be lying if I said I didnt have doubts.

Getting to the Semi was great, the first leg, I was over the moon, we went to their ground and we just simply got outplayed, by a team that turns up when it wants, they turned up, we didnt. We now have a big game against Chelsea, it helps me mask the pain of our grim league season, but as stated, the signs are promising regarding a change in Goal.

I will take a look at where we are in May, if I dont like what I see, I will demand his sacking, but thats then and this is now, for now, I am Cult.

Without sounding like a pedant - surely the team that wins most football matches is the best footballing team in the country. No secret that much of the frustration stems from the perceived sacrifice of results to the style.
I think there's a time lag between performance and result, tbh. You cant have results without performance, but the reverse isn't necessarily true.

This season we've been developing the Everton football brand. We now have a discernible style of play that most neutrals outside the club identify us with. That now needs to be given a touch of steel for it to flourish and transform enough of the 11 draws we've had into wins for us to be right up the table. That comes next.

To be fair mate howard should never have been here in august and a big worry for me was he only dropped him when he got an injury.
Nearly every fan was baying for joel to start and coco either didn't have the bottle to drop howard or was blind to it and for me that is bad management.
A manager needs to identify a problem and rectify it not hoping it will sort itself out.
It was like with stones he needed taking out and building up again but that would not have happened unless he got his injury.
The west brom game we played well but the way he used the subs baffled me its like he is not seeing whats going on.
Martinez certainly splits the fanbase and i have to say i want him gone but like i said before if we have a good jump up the table i will lay off him but i just can't see him taking us up the league.
You maybe cult now but the plotters are patient
