If we keep that up for the rest of the season in the PL it'd get us top 7. If we convert more draws into wins we could still be on for a top 6 finish.
Talk is cheap though. A win against Villa a week tonight and a win against West Ham would put us into a good position and leave us with a base to launch an attack on Chelsea in the cup. There's still a lot to play for this season.
Your statement that I have underlined is the key - I agree with you 100% on these two points. The unspoken inference of course is that if Martinez cannot organise the squad and the tactics to achieve either of these goals then he is not making progress, and the recent run of five results, or twelve, or however many you change it to in your next post, will be viewed as nothing more than a flash in the pan.
Time will tell. Fingers crossed that we can give Villa a hiding and then carry momentum into what will be a very tough West Ham game.
