It's constant "what if". Last year it was "what if" the Europa League, this season it was "what if" the league cup. He won the FA Cup with Wigan and took them down.

Villa beat Liverpool in the FA Cup semi final and got to the final with a much worse squad than ours. Look at them now, all that positivity last May was false optimism.

I don't believe he is capable of enabling us to defend in a way that would allow us to be consistent and challenge for the top 4 (like West Ham, who looked awful today are).

No no, this isn't about last season's "what ifs", because obviously that's in the past and the result won't change. The FA Cup is ahead of us.

I think I'm right in gathering you don't see an FA Cup win as a successful season? There's no right or wrong answer by the way, I was genuinely interested. I'm not 100% either way on it. It would be ace to win some silverware though.

In any case Barry wasnt at 100% was he? Perhaps Martinez thought Lennons shattered i will take him off...who should i put on....barrys not looking healthy so do i go for Deulofeu or Niasse?

Hes gone for niasse....

Yeah mate, brilliant that. Love the way we play losing games after 2 and 3 goals to the good .

We could even emulate previous fa cup winners , you know Wigan, Portsmouth.........

I'm so pi**ed off with him I was almost hoping to log on and find he's been sacked but that is knee jerk.

But he does need to prove to everyone that he has the game management skills that everyone says he hasn't.

And he needs to pipe down with the superlatives and lay it on the line like it really is. Bobby - we've under achieved. Acknowledge it and perhaps there is a future for you.

If that was Shawcross today he would have stopped 2 goals. If Baines or Barkley took the pen wed likely have been 3-0 up with 10 men.

At 3-0 up with 10 men if we froze time then the same people on here would be awol....because we were winning....or complaininf about some nonsense.

As it is theyre on here slating the manager who got kost right today but was let down by his players making individual errors.

The defence, like the rest of the team had to make up the shortfall because of Miralles. Up until he removed Lennon they were doing ok. We didn't need to score anymore goals, we still had Lukaku on to relieve pressure, he should have brought Barry on and that was his big call. He got it wrong and it's pointless defending it.......
 
I think he'd make a great director of football. Clear philosophies focus on youth and not bad in the transfer market

Day to day though he cannot implement those philosophies or make the team any greater than the sum of its parts. We look nervous mentally fragile. We counter attack but dont press. We don't hold shape but give away the ball too easily. We cannot defend a set piece. We cannot see out a game

But more.to the point, if our manager has us playing like this and we keep losing then how.about we change.the manager and try to start winning?

Niasse let him down as did several others.

You realise the crosses should have been stopped at source and the centre backs should have cleared the danger.....

Lukaku missed a penalty.

It was a tactical masterclass before we let in 2 of the goals due to defending which were individuals letting down the team.

Yeah right. He demonstrates the same kind of partial masterclass every week. Same as me being a lottery jackpot winner right up until the third number comes out
