Roberto Martinez discussion

Actually, That is right... Can't blame Martinez for Miralles stupidity. Saying that though... You never take Lennon off. He was magnificent and even a tired Lennon runs more than any other in the team. I truly believe we would have won had he stayed on. That is Martinez's failings... His subs this season have been mind boggling

Spot on mate.

Can't blame RM for Mirallas or Lukaku's misses.

He set us up well from the off and it was working perfectly but the key in the second half was the pressing of Lennon. He could've easily lasted another 5 minutes imo.

Mate please stop with this?

We aren't sacking RM and getting Mourinho this week. It isn't happening.

I'd like to get Mourinho obviously but fgs you have to be realistic?

Fair enough and I will stop (after this reply).

It was not realistic we could sign somebody like Lukaku for 28m but we did. Personally I don't see the point in sacking Martinez or him leaving unless we get somebody like Mourinho in. I see a great opportunity here with him out of work and Manchester United likely to promote Giggs at some point. Sir Alex I am certain would prefer Giggs over Mourinho. With us playing Chelsea and Mourinho's personality I just sense a perfect opportunity that's why I'm banging the drum like a [Poor language removed] head!

He needs a miracle
I think he is finished. Even if he gets 3/4 more wins, which I now doubt, he hasn't been a success. I can't see how we are progressing, last year we had a good last few games which lifted us up the table. We beat teams in the last few weeks who were finished for the season. This year we will struggle to match the 12 wins we got last year so how are we progressing. We have stagnated in mid-table. Look at the teams around us. We are vying with Watford and Bournemouth.

We ain't getting Mourinho mate.

So when do we hire the "Martinez out" plane to fly over Goodison for the Arsenal game.

I've got a fear of flying but I'll pilot the thing myself

I saw all I needed to know about Martinez when he appeared on Monday night football in August. Jamie Carragher was doing all the usual slow mo analysis of defensive mistakes, and Martinez input was pretty much "Sh*t happens, Jamie".

Okay mate fair enough.

Personally, I feel United would be mad to promote Giggs and it wouldn't see them progress at all. Mourinho guarantees a big name for them to compete with Pep.

I just feel that the time is, if RM does leave, the summer to do so as there will be plenty of very decent managers who would come at that point.

My choices - if he did go:

- Quique Sanchez Flores - doing very well with Watford and knows how to drill a defence. Does like his teams to play football and wouldn't negate any of our attacking qualities.
- De Boer - the time's right for him to come to the Prem
- Pellegrini - ambitious but more realistic than Mourinho. Unsure whether he would be the right man to take us forward with this team however.

All that being said, RM showed yesterday how good a manager he can be. He also, ultimately and unfortunately, showed us how bad he can be as well.

That's why for me he still gets until the end of the season barring the next two games don't go totally to pot. if they do, then we may well have to look at a change in the international break but I still remain unsure as to who we could get that would guarantee improvement at this stage.

As much as it can be the manager's fault, there is also a fundamental fault with many of these players that can't be addressed by anybody except themselves.

Speaking of which, the time has to come where our experienced players such as Baines, Jags, Barry and Osman etc step up and talk to Martinez. Something needs to be done and they I think can be the only ones to drill into him and his staff what is needed for them to improve defensively.

Because its utterly mental to bring on a second striker when you're down to 10 and defending a lead?

I thought Niasse could play from the left aswell and has good workrate. If he'd brought on Barry for Lennon n we'd lost that would of been the worlds worst sub n too negative i bet aswell.. Lennon was basically a second striker anyway he was everywere.

People crying saying worst sub ever are acting like he took of a centre back n out Del there

Sick of being laughed at by clubs that can't handle a candle to us, absolutely fuming with this club, utter cowards from top to bottom, he's clearly out of his depth but the ownership is too weak to act. No way would Spurs, West Ham, Kopites, Southampton etc persist with him after these last 2 seasons which says alot about our ambitions.

If Moshiri doesn't get rid of him then as far as I'm concerned his ambitions for the club are nothing but midtable no matter what he says/invests.

Unfortunately our most unsuccessful Chairman ever is still lingering about, he won't sack Martinez
