Roberto Martinez discussion

LOL. Long unbeaten run? We went 1 league match without losing and that was against Villa.

WTF??? Listen mate hark back to the 84/85s side equalling record of 10 straight wins in the league - thats an unbeaten run for you !!! Not this excuse for the same !!

Agenda ridden drivel.
When was the last time we lost before yesterday?
Doesn't that constitute a run?
Nah. Not for the plotters.

He isn't to blame for conceding 3 goals. At all.
There is no justification, no "oh well" for missing those two chances.

Defensively, Funes Mori was pathetic. Oviedo and Barkley(?) and their failure to stop the cross for the second goal - pathetic.

Mirrallas getting sent off. Pathetic.

Martinez bringing on Niasse when his failure hasn't cost cost us a free header or a miss from 12 yards isn't even in the same league.

But it obviously is... I don't know why you can't see it, but when you have a team cruising with 10 men at 2-0 up until that sub, then the manager makes a chance which opens up both wings to constant attacks and crosses, then that's quite clearly a bad mistake from the manager.

Yes, Mirallas put us in the position for that mistake by Martinez to be costly, and the rat should be relegated to the youth team until he's booted out in the summer in my opinion. And yes, if Lukaku scores both of those we win the game, but every striker will miss chances, and in the same game he put us in the position to win it.

But ultimately, if Martinez doesn't make that colossal error at 2-0 with 70 odd minutes gone, then we see out the game. It was simply awful game management yet again, and if it was the first time you'd just say "oh well, I hope he learns from it" - but the same barmy decisions have cost us over and over again now and he's bordering on suicidal in his decision making.

I really want him to succeed. He's bought in to the club ethos so much more than Moyes ever did, his attitude to youth, his style of play etc... It's a real shame it's not working out.

I'm not as worried about him potentially being sacked as I was a few weeks ago, as we should be able to attract (and afford) a good replacement, should it come to that.

song was on for 30 minutes and completed 29 passes. mccarthy 90 mins and completed 28. both defensive midfielders. from where I was sitting he was running the show allowing lanzini and Payet more freedom. not very effective though was he.

McCarthy was outstanding yesterday.

Song was crap when he came on up until Lennon was taken off.

He only started running the show after that.

We had our two or three best opportunities of the second half in the 10 mins after Song came on and Lennon was still on.

I actually like this post, because it gives rise to other issues, most of which I agree with.

I don't think Martinez is a messiah. I think he deserves criticism for lots of things, a slight bit for yesterday.

Yesterday specifically however, the players as a collective are far more to blame imo.
