Roberto Martinez discussion

He has one massive flaw.....

His game management. He's not able to change a game through the 90min. he set the team up in a particular way and sends them out. A lot of the time we play some great stuff, but when thing arnt going right he doesn't know how to change it. Its his Achilles heel. Just look at the other bench on Saturday. Billic can see Emeniki is getting no Joy and were winning the midfield battle. he puts Carrol on and changes his system. Then we go 2 up and he stick 2 players on and changes the whole shape of the team... while Roberto sits there with his thumb up hi arse.

We cant say we dont play some great football at times, its probably the best in the league. But defensively were awful. TBH he should have been sacked last January after being the only club in 4 leagues not to get a single point over xmas.

His game managment is so poor its unreal and because of this he'll never be a top manager in a top league. He needs to be sacked asap...

Spot on. Enough is enough, time is up. Don't care if its now or the summer as long as we get a winner in.

You can win us an FA Cup on your way out though Roberto, just like you did for Wigan! In all seriousness though, an FA cup win will buy him some time unless the league form remains abysmal. Hard to see us winning it though since if we go 2-0 up in any of the remaining games then we're out of the competition.

The substitutions were awful against WBA and were awful against WHU.

On sat. the team was doing great at 2-0. Lennon was playing centrally and was linking with a Lukaku
and creating a barrier and he was not tired despite RM said afterwards. Players are fitter than ever and Lennon
was doing great. Why the hell change him? And for a bloke was is not match-fit, does not know his team mates and
is a basically a target not a runner and who proceeded to become a marginal factor in the game.

Where was Del Boy?. A player with speed and talent who could win corners, free kicks etc.

As for penalties are they are not practised? Lukaku's was awful . No run up, no determination.

All of the above is down to RM. As was playing Howard for a full year after Howard had turned really crap.

Thank you!
Lennon on the left, Del on the right.
If he plays Kone on the left on the weekend he can go immediately after the match for me.

You play your best players for goodness' sake!

We need to pressurize Chelsea and attack Ivanovitch especially and get the pace increased.

For me that means Del Boy on the left (not Cleverley) and Lennon the right.

Just throwing this out there...

Were trying to emulate the Barca/Arsenal styles yet they have had inspiring captains such as Carles Puyol and Patrick Vieira.

As a manager Martinez can only do so much from ths sidelines and you really need to have a strong captain on the pitch. Roy Keane, Vieira, Terry these are captains who commend respect and fear.

I'm not sure Jagielka is the right fit for us and was Moyes choice.

Perhaps Martinez needs to pick someone else for next season and make Jags club captain? It seems a bit of a theme that others get in the refs ear and jags is miles away...

Not to point fingers at Jags and i think he would make a good club rather than team captain.

FFS lad its just unacceptable to be where we are and a win next week will not change that for me - I saw the 70 and 85 sides - not one of this side would get into either side apart from perhaps Rom

You may be right but The fact is that Martinez wont be sacked and if we get our selves to the Wembley peeps calm down. If we dont...Moshiri will probably state that Martinez has his trust. But...I think Mr. M wont be looking under performing like B.K. I'll choose to support him still...eventhough he's been poor. These last games might change it, though

I can't figure out if this is bad, like really bad, or if the pretty colours are convincing me the bad runs weren't as bad as I thought(because of things like cup wins, or our away form this season), but I spent a little time popping our results under Martinez into this sheet

I agree. I don't think Jags should be in the starting 11 next season. How's that for you?
Give the captaincy to Barkley if no Keane type is found.

Take a look at Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly who was linked in summer.

only seen him on youtube and seen his stats but looks amazing...and very good press reports. Like Desailly.

On the Everton news feed theres a very good tactical insight showing that the Niasse Lennon sub had nothing to do with the outcome of the tactics at all.

Lennon made one tackle in the 2nd half when he was pushed to a support striker role (like for like change with Niasse)....the stats show that after the lukaku miss the players crumbled.

Think that pretty much supports tactically what i could see with my own eyes rather than bashing Martinez for a substitution its the backbone of the players...

For that you need a captain to step up.

Been weak all season or two. But we aren't allowed to criticise him on here are we?

I've got a massive overwriting feeling that, no matter what, roberto will still be at the helm next season... anybody else feel this?
