Roberto Martinez discussion

Phew, relax lads, weekend's salvaged....SKY says we had 79.9% pass completion and the 3rd most shots on target.

Get in....!!

By BOB's logic I think that's 3 points? (TBC)

Just seen on SSN the stats for top 5 passing sides over the weekend with us second to Chelsea.

Of the 5, only Bournemouth actually won

Martinez quotes today (from the Independent

“With the seven defeats we can analyse every single one and, apart from Manchester United, in every one we performed in an incredible manner and deserved a lot more,” said Martinez.
“Fortunately, I have got seven years of experience in this league and I know what it takes,” said Martinez when asked if he felt any added pressure.

God save us from this deluded, arrogant fraud.

We won the passing again? YES.

I was reading something over the weekend about possession based teams and the win ratio of them (it wasn't as great as people will have you believe) - ill try and dig it out as it has relevance.

Thats the problem and the one thing i have serious issues will Martinez - i see no sign of learning and changing in his thinking. I have said i think he got lucky with Howard getting injured that it gave him breathing space, but it was a run of games which we should have realistically won.

2-0 up, 10 men, that substitution shows that he hasn't learned from previous results.

Performance is better than result. That's why I think he is deluded.

I'm more convinced than ever he's slightly deluded now. I'm aware a lot of it is flannel but I've always had issues with his pressers....I recall his WIGAN side getting tonked and listening to his post-match bubbles thinking 'Awwww, mate, you're off your cake'. I have numerous issues with the crux of most of this....

...but to suggest we were 'tactically outstanding' is, frankly, insulting & a little bit nuts TBH. Even if he truly feels that then he should be savvy enough to know that - to a vast portion of the fanbase - it's just isn't gonna cut it as words, it's babble.

But I'm getting used to that.

Still, as said, gotta be hopeful eh...

You say that as if it would be some fickle turnaround. Our position is simple. We feel Martinez has done enough to earn himself the rest of the season at least. A lot can still happen so let's judge him then. We aren't bottoming out after every bad result, just giving him the chance to try and get it right with the rich talent he has assembled. Nothing wrong with that imo
He has had time mate.
He is nearly at the end of his 3rd season and he is taking us backwards.
We are now 12th and sinking and his record at home of 4 wins in nearly 9 months as well as his game management skills is disgraceful.

So what's the next step then ?

Protest and banners at the next game, I don't think it will make a difference as were stuck with the clown

There's so many things in that article which make me laugh.

“I thought tactically we were outstanding."

“If you look at the way we got set up in the second half, we were the better side and I think we showed an incredible tactical understanding and character."

How can he even say that when we conceeded 3 goals in 12 minutes, how can you say we were outstanding and the better side when we lost and conceeded goals!!

If you dare to question him you are not real fans. Thought he said that also? We question him because of the league table, simple.
