That's true but I don't think it changes the fact that it would be a rushed decision at this point in terms of his replacement.
I think we need somebody experienced at top clubs and preferably the PL, but at the same time is a realistic option.
That does restrict us and it will be easier to achieve that in the summer if RM does go.
Flores again would be my choice as he's proven with Atletico and a winner with Valencia, plus his defensive strengths have kept Watford up pretty much while getting decent results.
I think he'd be a manager who could come into our side and retain the attacking flair but add that defensive solidity. Tbf I think RM could do this if he good just see the blatantly obvious...
If not, i'm sure we could attract a name like De Boer but then there's the factor of no Prem experience. Koeman as well but would he leave Southampton?
I think Mancini, potentially could be drawn to us but again he's at Inter and he's a bit of a nutter...
I don't think you'd need to replace him immediately mate. Get rid, let people within the club know it's not been good enough. Tell them this club is heading for bigger things and if they want to be a part of it they need to work hard.
Put Unsworth or someone in as caretaker. Then have the process of finding a manager between now and the Summer. Once you get the deal in place for them to take over in the Summer, you hit the headlines again.
You could have totally changed the outlook of the club in a matter of months, especially in terms of the media profile. If you can get that big name as well, then even better, suddenly the Summer looks far more promising. As opposed to a manager who people are rightly questioning who looks to have us in the bottom half two seasons running with this group.
I like Flores as a manager. Not sure he'd be my first choice but I wouldn't object.
In all walks of life there are people who command instant respect. Be it from their personality or from their achievements. The rs have done that with Klopp, they've gone from players second guessing Brenda to Klopp having the respect of everyone straight away. People may not agree with him, but they'll follow him cos of who he is.
People like De Boer and Koeman who you mentioned have both won European Cups, and played at the very highest level. They would command instant respect as well, on that alone.
