Quite amazing that he hasn't been sacked yet.

Supposing he got sacked if we lose vs Chelsea. Switching managers now to a caretaker manager may well make up the minds of Lukaku and Stones that they are leaving - irregardless of who the permanent manager ends up being.
In fairness this team for both potential and flair is nowhere near the smith era or mostly under Moyes. I agree the stats don't lie but there are positives with RM notably the attacking improvement - 2nd highest scorers is no mean feat in this league. Not defending the goals conceded at home - it's unacceptable but in contrast to the away form its an odd position. While we all rightly expect more we must also remember it was the manager himself who put the majority of the potential together.He has to win all 4 if he's going to equal Moyes worst season. Last season he only had 7 which was the worst since Smith.
You're making the assumption that playing in a team that's underperforming for a manager who can't see the problems won't make up their minds
Martinez being allowed to stay may send the message that we lack ambition to improve and they are better off elsewhere
Thing is lids, we get/make it/stagger, to the end of the season, Wembley wins or no, (under the old regime especially) there may well be a Board meeting and statement;
'Reluctantly as of, blah blah thanks etc.'
I would like to think that The Club have a replacement already lined up...but you never know.
Half the squad will be in one Euro Training camp or another. So will many of the potential recruits. Will we have some sort of lash up like after the last WC? It's the end of July or so, the season starts in 2 or 3 weeks, the Window closed in 4 or 5 and the New Guy hasn't seen a ball kicked in anger yet.
I'd like to hope that The Mosh is a bit more on the ball than that.
Chris Sutton is not impressed with Martinez at all - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03lv187

Says he's a joke and an embarrassment and that he blames everyone but himself after every game.
Exactly. Give a new manager time to figure out what he's got before the euros. Even if it's just to allow them to identify who or what type of player to watch out for at the euros
