Roberto Martinez discussion

Exactly.
I don't see it as a glass ceiling, it's all fixable.
Whether Martinez can/will fix it, tough to say. He's fixed some things during his tenure but also failed to deal with potential issues that exacerbated over time. Needs to pick up results in the short term to get people back onside, and that should be his first point of call.
An away win at Anfield gives a lot of goodwill mate. As do cup runs.

Of course there's a problem if we're 12th in the league at this stage. Cups performance has been better this year at least.

It's whether those problems are insurmountable (glass ceiling mentality) or can be fixed given time.

And if whether at any time in Martinez's managerial career he has shown himself to be capable of addressing his defensive deficiencies.

If someone could point to a time were he has addressed an issue like this, fine. But in his seven year premier league career, I can't think of a single example of him sorting a defence out.

He's capable of outplaying pretty much every team in the league and is a young manager. You could say he can learn new skills. You could say he never will.

Only time will tell.

I admire your positive outlook, mine has been shattered and in its place only darkness.
There's plenty of positives to be seen, the man just needs to win some bloody football games.
If he can't, he needs to go. Simple as, we've underachieved for long enough, no matter the performances on the pitch.
Football is about results at the end of the day.

Anyway thanks to those who took the time to sensibly answer my question.

Bit mad when you calm down for a minute and think about it?

Nice to have a break from the hysteria in this thread for a few minutes too.

Anyway don't let me spoil the fun. Back to it lids.

Do you really think we'll win away at Anfield though?
Mate, not rose tinted at all here, but Liverpool are gash.
Jammy mistake from the goalie and a jarg penno against Palace, and they are boss all of a sudden.

If Martinez plays Del... And what's gone on there like.. Against Liverpool we ruin them.
