Even if we did win at Anfield, pushing up the league requires winning more than two in a row. Something we are yet to show we can do this season?

But for the ref we would have beaten city and been in the final.
Maybe he won't say we have a problem in public.. because he knows we have a problem and he doesn't have the ability to fix it

It's not the first time I've said this, but... you know if he just put his hands up, said he got it wrong and indicated a willingness to change it... I'd give him some slack. Honestly I would. As it would indicate he has something pragmatic about him that can acknowledge when something doesn't work, and would indicate that he understand he needs to improve his mindset to management at this level.
It's the absolute lack of self-awareness that turns me against him more than anything else. These comments are as predictable as they are disheartening.
It's just so annoying. I badly wanted to like the manager after Moyes, and in theory everything Martinez wants to do is right, but the theory just doesn't come off in practice as he just lacks the mentality and skill to actually implement it.
Bah.
Do you not feel that he did that in the previous 6 games and also up until lukaku's penalty miss?
Well yes, we have. Not particularly well though. Bournemouth's crosses led to a penalty and an absolute gilt edged sitter for Gosling. Villa's led to a goal and other chances, despite them being utterly useless. He isn't saying in the whole game, and he is mitigating against the turn of form defensively - 2 goals conceded in 6 games. In each of those games we've defended crosses.
You need to use the quotes together to get his point, rather than dissecting it line from line
All sounds nice, but you do realise that you can forget about winning our game in hand when doing those calculations - our game in hand is at Anfield mate - not a prayer we are gonna win that like
Thats the crux of it, I don't believe he has the capacity to fix it...It's all quite sad really, How the school of science is now failing GcseMaybe he won't say we have a problem in public.. because he knows we have a problem and he doesn't have the ability to fix it

This remarkable defensive improvement consisted of a clean sheet against a league one side, one against an under strength Bournemouth, conceding enough goals to lose the game against West Brom, and only conceding one against the league's two worst sides (who, coincidentally we had conceded 0 against when we played them prior to our improvement). The only game which realistically suggests an improvement was Stoke, and even they were in a dire run of form when we played them, having scored a grand total of one in their previous five games.
Hang on lads. Let's not jump all over this.
Dave will be on soon to explain what he actually meant.
But we were sooooooooooo boss before him though weren't we mate?Thats the crux of it, I don't believe he has the capacity to fix it...It's all quite sad really, How the school of science is now failing Gcse

We are not a sacking club.
