Roberto Martinez discussion

If we go out the cup, I'd sack him, and I was behind him for longer than most.

It was a quarter final defeat in the FA cup that finished off Walter Smith. At the moment 8th place is the highest we can finish.Oh my god the excitement of it all.We can still finish in 8th place! As the pro Martinez crew would say what's the difference between 12th place and 8th place?Exactly it's been a second consecutive league season of mediocrity and failure. The FA cup is this managers last straw.I actually think we'll beat Chelsea this weekend though. At this stage though only an FA cup win will do for quite a lot of us.Anything less and it's time to cut our losses with Martinez and get in the cailbre of manager that this club deserves and can now pay for and attract.

It was a morgue until the red card.

My couch...in America. Makes no difference that the atmosphere is crap where I watch the game from. It's like the match goers are in denial about how bad the home support is. The away support is always top notch.
Turn the volume up then....Dont dare to criticise match going fans please......until you've sat with them - Thank you. i will say that the Upper Bullens where the cameras and mikes are has never been the most vocal part of the crowd but then again I speak from experience.....

Honestly sat on my couch in Russia i thought the atmosphere until they pulled 1 back was tremendous throughout, then udnerstandably it plummeted - because lets face it we all knew exactly what was coming - and no none of what happened the last 15 minutes was on the fans, it was on the manager primarily who made absolutely braindead decisions and then the players who depsite the managers best efforts to [Poor language removed] it up should have still held out

Sorry mate but I will criticize them...it's embarrassing. I would NEVER 'support' the team the way some of our 'supporters' do.

Like Stones' transfer to Chelsea?
Not on about players. Poor management has just been a discussion between ourselves up to now.
The fact the media are now picking up on it as well usually means that there is actually something wrong.

Most of the time when this happens the manager usually goes. Not all the time as in rare cases they do ride it out. Can't see this being the case with Bobby.

A team of confidence players having their confidence drained by the 'support' is defo contributing to the problem.
Like i say the main problem is the manager and his weakness getting to the players.
The fans want to see some fight not little girls rolling over to stoke or west ham or whoever

Yet they said nsno while Martinez has a league winning rate of 31% since the beginning of last season.

Why do they support the team so differently?

Away fan rule 101, the away fans tend as a rule to be younger and often a lot more pissed up than the home fans, not as as many a percentage with the family and kids etc, and its a day out and naturally they are louder/more up for it.

Practically every away i have ever been has had a miles better atmosphere than at Goodison and at aways myself i was/am way way more vocal, it's how it is with every set of supporters.

It's a rare home game that can match even a poor away game - Fiorentina home springs to mind as one of the ones i was at that did match it

So why did we lose to West ham?

Taking Lennon off
Rom missing the pen (not for me and I don't like the way Martinez used this either)
Can't defend long balls
10 men and we were tired
Bringing naisse on.
