Aye, Moyes farmed him out, Warnock sent him back. Bizarre.
Martinez gave him a go, worked out well.
I feel like an odd one out here - I don't hate Martinez with a vengeance but I don't completely love him at the moment either.
Who knew you could have a moderate opinion on the manager these days eh? Seems people want to either tuck him into bed or kill him with fire.
I'm not saying you have to settle for less for Everton, just try to take a moderate view - not liking the manager 100% doesn't mean that you have to actively campaign for his sacking or harangue those who like him. Likewise Martinez fans - you don't have to aggrevate those who dislike him either.
Balance is best and some could do with it when posting here now and again. Try it folks, you might like it.
I honestly think that the polarisation and name calling from both sides dissuades others from posting.
You cannot post a moderate viewpoint without either side launching into a diatribe about how you aren't extreme enough in your viewpoint.
The forum is poorer off with the lack of discussion with the slanging match that this thread has become.
I remember that game well and the booing was entirely justified. You can't just take the game in isolation, you had to appreciate it in the context of the whole season. We'd seen some absolutely awful displays devoid of any tempo or attacking prowess. We were spluttering into life a little in this game as Barkley and Besic injected some verve into midfield (both subsequently moved out of those positions in another master stroke). The crowd was urging the team on and in that one moment Jagielka had a wealth of passing options, he dithered so criminally though and eventually went back to the keeper that it just broke a lot of Evertonians there and then. The score was irrelevant, it was a clear symbol that the philosophy was not about good football but negative conservative passing for passing's sake, the sort of football that delivered a relegation scrape and a bottom half finish.
Personal stuff like this (which has earned a threadban) is not wanted folks, for at least the fourth time today.Ah, the Superfan Complex.
Yes well done mate, you're all ready and waiting for Saturday. Godspeed.

Dont hate him just don't want him managing the club anymore
Its true he has improved individuals, but the other side of that coin is he has failed to get those individuals to play as a team.
Don't fool yourself mi amigo; the tides are turning and the banners are burning. El fraudo is on a downwards slope
Sorry if already posted as I slept overnight. From another place...
"Couple of pieces in the last 24 hours claiming senior players are unhappy with Martinez...
I'll just leave these pieces of mob journalism here...

"Telegraph Sport, however, understands that a number of Everton players would like adopt a more savvy approach to trying to protect leads and keep the opposition out. They want to play for a winning team."

"A source recently told ProSoccerTalk that senior players among the Everton dressing room have lost faith in Martinez’s tactics and deem the Spaniard as naive, while another source claims he is not the flavor of the month with the top young talents at the club either."
whatever you say I only ever here in Danny Maguire's voice haha
Ha does it come to that really? Immature put downs because someone disagrees? Pleas explain how subbing a striker for a winger is like for like? Which qualities Lennon and Niasse share?
