Roberto Martinez discussion

Yeh we've drawn way too many, I'm not saying we haven't. As good as Rom has been though he is also part of that. Think how many chances he's missed as well as put away that would have seen us pick up more points - Norwich and Swansea and Palace spring to mind?
And yes mate the penalty did contribute, of course it did. To say it isn't a factor is ridiculous.

Im sorry mate but if you are blaming Lukaku for anything whatsoever it does affect your argument about the manager. He has 18 league goals this season, over 20 goals in all competitions. He is the first player to score more than 17 in the premier league since cottee, first to run up these sorts of numbers in a season since Lineker. Lukaku is immune from blame for anything this season mate, and to even suggest that anything falls near him because he hasn't scored more than what he already has is just ridiculous.

On 23 players in total... not 9

Aye true enough, but overall spurs are not a club i will throw a lot of stuff at about their spending as generally they have spent less than us over the past 5-6 seasons due to some large player sales, now the rs on the other hand have spent stupidly and extravagently for no real return

No I'm holding Lukaku accountable for not scoring that penalty. Who else can you blame?

I'm not blaming him for losing the game at all or us losing more games. I'm saying as good as he's been he's been a part of a team (key word) that is underachieving - some of that down to the manager and some of that down to the players and sometimes other factors as well.

He's done his duty this season but I can guarantee you he will be disappointed he hasn't scored more.

No player is immune from blame. I love Rom and he's the best player we've had at this club in donkeys, but still not immune.

No I know mate.

It was in answer to somebody saying they'd spent no money. SPurs have spent money - though not a lot of net admittedly due to the fees they recoup back, especially for their many, many flops...

he couldn't get a defense set up there either, and its comparable because he was responsible as the manager for there results, his current record here isn't anything to shout about, take a look further back in this thread i posted a full calendar year of his results its a disgrace.
Like i pointed out in comparison to Pulis at the mighty Stoke, palace,WBA all of which he was brought in to firefight he has a worse prem win rate and is currently above him in the table, that's how good he is.
Talks a good game, but results say he cant back it up.

He obviously had a limited squad at Wigan.

He went into the cup final against Manchester City without four first team defenders; Centre backs; Caldwell and Ramis; Wing backs; Figueroa and Beausejour

He brought in veteran centre half Scharner and played with two novice wing backs, McArthur and Espinoza. And with Robles, Kone, Alcaraz and McCarthy, he emerged with the cup.

I'm pretty certain Martinez makes the rest of the season.

After that? It depends for how much longer Bill retains the power as King Maker I guess.

Martinez clearly isn't going anywhere while Bill has the final say, but when he no longer does, who knows what will happen?

and got relegated about 3-4 days later

My view is that in the long term he will be an awful signing. Just my opinion. Hope i'm wrong. What is indisputable is that he is no where near premier league standard at this moment in time. That's why it was a crazy sub. It was also crazy not to give him more time against Villa.

No, you can't say that he is nowhere near Prem quality.

He shouldn't have been put on in that situation - out of position when down to 10 men - and that's the manager's error.

And again, why was it crazy not to give him more game time vs Villa? That's obviously the plan to build up his game time game by game. The amount of time he had against Villa was fine.

Mate the final say is already with Moshiri, you don't become that succesful in business then lay out 80-100m buying something to let the person continue running it as before, especially when how it was being run poorly is one of the big attractions you saw in the thing in the first place, he will be hands on from day one with this

...so why retain the old Chairman?

hope he wins one here, then like at Wigan parts company with the club and takes the backroom team he brought from wigan , out of the door with him, if he is to stay, that at least needs sorting out.
