Logic suggests you're right, not an overstatement to say our season probably depends on Martinez bringing in a quality centre half. We're already below par defensively. This could be the nail in the coffin with regards to our ambition of getting back into Europe.

Jags and Lescott had one of the best partnerships in the league (should at Baines to that too). Probably won't and some will say shouldn't happen but he could deffo do a job for us.

It could put us in serious danger of being relegated never mind top 7.

We don't have an attack that creates a lot of chances when teams sit back and defend and if we don't have a strong CB partnership we're going to get countered to death. Not a good combo with the way we like to play.
