I'm coming off as more of a downer on Bobby then I really want to be, here. But I will say that points totals have to be taken in context. We've come 8th and 4th with the same points totals. That's just because the lower half of the league was weaker in the former case.
Positions mean more than points total.
Yeah, I agree. Fair point. That was a top performance.
Maybe your forgetting the time in the snow when Pienaar gave us a late goal that we couldnt keep hold of.

Look guys truth be told, were the 7th best 6th at a push side in the PL.
We ain't any way doing badly or been doing badly in the last 10yrs.... Yes would be nice to have had the luck, and the right performances at the right times to win a trophy but it hasn't happened, just as it hasn't happened for many other a team.

I am too, but it's important to players to know what they have to aim for isn't within easy reach. Moyes got us into the low 60 point category and we never felt like we'd performed unless we at least achieved it again the next season. If Martinez can make high 60s and maybe 70 points the norm we can grab some low lying fruit in terms of CL fourth place in the coming seasons.

Hmm. We were hanging on a bit that day as I recall. It wasn't the assured performance of this season.
He smashed 2013, hes failed at every turn in 2014 so far.
Vaughan missing that sitter at 2-1 was unforgivable.
We destroyed them for 45minutes and had nothing to show for it, they then scored and luckily we managed to salvage a point.
Assured? Not for me.

The problem was that we could snot teams all over the show with our play but as soon as we scored our first goal then we would retreat 15 yards back in position. Try and hang on. How many three and four nils did we achieve? There's your answer.
At least under Martinez he'll continue to go at teams. Will hurt us sometimes but for the most part we'll be sound and its what I like to see my Everton teams do.
