Roberto Martinez discussion

The whole seasons collapse can be traced back to Osman and Sunderland.

That Sunderland game is defo the start of the slide. I firmly believe we naively chased that too hard and destroyed a few players' hamstrings.

We lost that home unbeaten record and a bit of our 'invincibility' with it.

Sunderland took Martinez's virginity and he's been a pure loose sweat ever since.

Moyes' teams for the past three years of his time with us played some really nice stuff.

The problem was that we could snot teams all over the show with our play but as soon as we scored our first goal then we would retreat 15 yards back in position. Try and hang on. How many three and four nils did we achieve? There's your answer.

At least under Martinez he'll continue to go at teams. Will hurt us sometimes but for the most part we'll be sound and its what I like to see my Everton teams do.

Yeah the stuffings we gave stoke and fulham is the real proof of how we're better under Martinez, much more than the performances vs the top 5.

Yep, we did play some fine stuff at times. Problem was there was too little of it. And when it looked like costing us a point or two he started dropping adventurous players that were giving us attacking options.

It was outrageous that the first half of his career with us he had our attacking options solely built around Cahill doubling our goal threat with late runs, and the latter half based on a Baines-Pienaar combo. Only in his last 18 months did he open up two or three attacking options for the opposition to deal with.

Yep. I started to get pissed off with him when he made us look a right tit in Europe by trying to out pass better technical opponents and slow our game right down, thus negating our main threat against them.

Then the sticking with players clearly out of form out of pigheadness. And then totally shitting it in big games or playing for a draw.

The final straw was the 3-0 Gerrard derby where he played a weakened team and Liverpool beat us to move above us in the league.

I just couldn't imagine an Everton manager doing that in a derby.

Anyway he's moved onto United and we have Martinez and I'm happier now, despite the past five weeks or so slip. I reckon give time and money (as if) he will take us places Moyes couldn't.

Moyes...Everton...Europe. That's like a Satanic chant.
