Not having that Edge. Every time we tried to get the ball forward, he managed to break up play on Liverpool's behalf. He can't control it under the slightest bit of pressure. He has a part to play in the buildup and he's not doing it. It's not feasible to expect Coleman to run the length of the field and deliver a perfect cross each time

100% mate. Lost count of how many times he flicked the ball on and nobody got on the end of it. Nobody to be seen near him and the supporting play was non-existent. Lennon and Valencia were far too deep.

I agree it's not surprising at all when you leave your lone striker on his own against a full back 4 where the best pass into him all second half was an up and under from Ashley Williams.

If you sit back and leave your striker alone up there for a full 45 mins, with Barkley, Valencia and Lennon basically reverting to DM/full-back roles, giving Lukaku scraps to feed off, it doesn't matter if you've got Ibrahimovic up top, it won't make a blind bit of difference to the end result.

Damn he gave us nothing tonight second half. I realise holding it up in an advanced position is not easy, but we need at least something out of him there. Getting overrun and there was just no pressure relief whatsoever.

I can't believe people don't see this, he doesn't accept any responsibility for playing in the people who are eventually supposed to "give him service". Ibrahimovic would control basic passes, hold play up for 2 or 3 seconds while support comes, pass it off and get into a good position. Lukaku will let the ball crawl up his shin as he frantically tries to control it and let it dribble to an opposition player's feet

His touch isn't great , but why play that way when we know that?
Never anybody around him when he does win it , fed up seeing him in areas that he can't hurt anybody.
No wonder he gets frustrated and we get frustrated looking at him, put the ball to in front of him and let him go that's were he is dangerous, we need a midfielder to play to him .

He did and he was playing well for the first 25. He was winning flick-ons holding the ball up, nearly got to that great Coleman ball early on and produced the only other bit of decent wing play we saw all game. He wasn't having a worldie, but he was doing fine.

Then we inexplicably sat back, the atmosphere died and the rest is history.
