Romelu Lukaku

I just do not rate Italian football at all. It's garbage. :)

I would make sure Lukaku is here for at least the next 2 years. Just hope we don't lose him on a free though.
There is no fear of him running a contract down. We have given him a platform here to be a hero and to be the star player in the team. If it comes to a point where he feels he has to go then fair enough, but we have made him our star player and allowed him to be first on the team sheet and to go out and score goals rather than rotate or drop him at all. Thst is all a striker wants, so if he can't meet his requirements then I'd just thank him for the good memories and wish him good luck.

Exactly. In all likeliness, whatever happens in the summer regarding Rom, be if he goes or not, then we will be in a much strong position.

If he stays, which is in my humble opinion the best outcome, then we've got a guaranteed goal scorer of high quality who can proper us forward!

On the other hand, if he does eventually leave (which due to his ambition will be to a top club) then we will get a sizeable fee for his departure.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, he is the best striker we've had in over a generation and for the younger fans they know nobody better.

And if someone along the likes of Juventus, Bayern et al. comes calling then I would wish him well, as he should be wanting to be the best.

I think that is code for something else they want to call him. Way back when it was Yakubu who was called lazy, coincidentally he was our best striker since Lineker.

Still hear the odd racial slur in the Gwladys every now and then.

It's worse at aways. I've stopped taking my wife (her parents are Sri Lankan) to aways due to some of the knuckle draggers that follow us around.

I used to go with Barnes Travel years ago and the coaches were disgraceful. Against our own players, too.

The ones singing the songs were around 16-18.

Don't know if it is still the same now on that coach.

Yea I know, terrible to think that might be the case. Very sad.

Always said that I think there are still subconscious derogatory beliefs that produce many of the idiotic comments from some of our fans.

If Rom had less melanin in his skin would some people see him differently? Unfortunately, I think so. Fortunately however for most it means nothing.

I think you are right mate and it saddens me to think some people are still like that in 2017

MOTD2 team busy trying to sell Rom to anyone 'a German club, a Spanish club, Man City, Arsenal even Tottenham'

Historically we are one of the most successful clubs in this league and as soon as it starts gelling and we threaten the PL 'top 6' status quo, the British meja starts selling our best players to the competition a few points above us. Beyond a joke.

Well in Osman for keeping his cool and avoiding the bait.

Agreed. Early business in the summer, i.e. June and not end of August, will help us keep him, especially if we sign a strike partner or just someone exciting who can play behind him (although if Ross can play with the confidence he had yesterday then that spot is filled IMO).
I don't doubt that he's happy here, but of course he is gonna have one eye on champions league and trophies. Onus is on us to show that it can happen at Everton.
If he leaves we should demand the silly money. For his age and track record in the PL he should be the same fee as Griezemann at least, reported 80m to Man Utd this summer. If we sell to an English club then 80m is the starting price. If it's to Germany/Italy/Spain then why not demand the same. We don't need the money anymore, not at the cost of losing Lukaku anyway.

Red Cafe are having a bit of a Jizz fest about Rom & hoping Mourinho can swallow his cajones and resign him (although to Utd if you follow)

Think you make some good points but I'm not even sure 50/60 million finds a worthy replacement for him? Yes it would allow us to further strengthen squad overall, but my fear is his finding another 20 goal a season striker

It seemed to me that Rom saw todays match turn to a 3-2 contest and said there is no way we are losing this match then went on to score 2 more to see off Bournemouth. When has Everton had a player like that. One can say How we finish this season goes on how Rom plays.
