Romelu Lukaku

unfortunately we are crying out for a goal scoring alternative striker to Rom and neither Valencia nor Kone is the answer. Gabbadini is scoring at the moment and would have been a more than useful co-striker and for very reasonable money (in PL striker terms)

He has more goals in two games than both our back up strikers have all season.

So there is that point. ....

I feel my point has been missed.

Yes we definitely need more forwards. This is part of the reason I wanted us to sign Gabbiadini. But my point is that anyone acting like he's a great success already is jumping the gun. It's just 2 games. Jelavic had a half season of aceness and even then he was proven to ultimately be rubbish.

I think anyone assuming Gabbiadini is a big miss is jumping the gun.

I wanted us to sign him admittedly, but it's far too early to tell if he's going to be a consistently good forward in this league.
If he is what he looks like, he would have been useful in yesterday's game. Having someone who can control the ball alongside Rom would have really helped against Boro.

I think someone like Llorente would have been an ideal foil for Lukaku. Barnes from Burnley would be a good partner for him, too.

Llorente is poo from what I've seen.

Only player from that team I'd love to see is Gylfi.
He isn't the most mobile, but his holdup play is excellent, and would allow Lukaku to play on the shoulder.

Sigurdsson would have been a brilliant signing. Shame that never came off.
