Romelu Lukaku

I think it's the opposite, in a team of world class players he'll get shown up as not being at the same level.

There's a world class player in there, but at times it seems he's his own worst enemy with some half paced displays.

Guess we'll see ;)

Although it's a bit crap, I think he struggles a bit for motivation in a team that isn't competing for titles and that he'll go up a gear if he gets his Chelsea move or similar.

Just wondering if his little twitter outburst at the press is because none of his preferred big teams are making a play for him/prepared to pay the price and he needs someone to blame because it looks like his best option is to stay at little old Everton??

So on the basis of most of the comments on here RL isn't all that, his goals are incidental and he has to go.

So let's just gauge what the reaction would be on say July 5 if a press release from Everton confirms he has been sold to Chelsea for £28 million.

Clearly there is going to be dancing in the streets around Goodison

So the fault in all this lies with the poor management at Everton. If he really isn't trying, wants out doesn't add anything then he quite simply shouldn't be playing. The league season is done and dusted and if he wants out then quite simply let one of the academy players have a run. It's not happened so why not?

I don't pretend to be anything else other than a fan of football. The pundits, yes I know about them, but most are ex players so they see things we don't, near enough to a man rate RL and time after time they go on about how to get the best out of him.

I too hear that there is an issue with him returning to Chelsea , my limited understanding it's much akin to the issues they had with Hazard in that they say too much in the press but with the twist of wanting to be treated as special and guarenteed a starting place. If you listen now to Hazard he is far more guarded than he was before his move to England. When Hazard stepped out of line at Chelsea bang he was benched and that should have been the situation once RL refused the new contract. Everton are treating RL is bigger than the club!

Agree with most of that apart from the last bit.

The club aren't doing anything like that.

He's our best player. He plays as we like to win games. That's it at the end of the day.

Just been listening to Rene Mulenstein, ex man utd coach. When asked the question about RL being a perfect fit at utd, he said definitely not. Saying his link up play and ability for a series of quick passes in the final third of play is poor.

Rene clearly hasn't watched a lot of United under Jose, then

100% obvious he loves chelsea and is expecting to go back what player ever comments on stuff like that obviously worried it could affect him and his move. if we get 80 mil i will be happy sign to high quality players, are problem is who are we convincing to come if he goes no real stars in are team.

The spiteful side of me now really hopes we drop him, cost him his golden boot, and then refuse to sell him this summer. Statement out day after season ends saying how he's leaving under no circumstances and all bids will be reported to the FA for tapping up.

The type of player Rom is, he's a lot more valuable to an elite team than he is to a team trying to become elite. With world class players around him, he's going to be devastating as a focal point.

I'm not that fussed if he goes BUT I also think he's going to absolutely tear it up wherever he ends up.

Yeah, pretty much this nailed on! The hold up play and lack of work rate will soon be forgotten by the media's narrative as he is the best finisher in europe.
A top top team will create him 30 clear cut chances a season and that will be enough

lollol Starting to feel like that myself too!

I'm really not arsed if he goes now - I've been around long enough to see plenty of others come and go - and the "stuck record" point about noone being bigger than the club is as relevant today as it has ever been and always will be.

I posted this a while ago and i dont want to look like i'm jumping on the bandwagon of thinking lukaku is garbage now, but he never seems to score important goals

3 goals v sunderland - 3-0 win
1 v boro - 2nd goal in a 3-1 win
1 v palace 1-1 draw
1 v city - 1-1 draw
1 v west ham 2nd goal in a 2-0 win
2 v watford 3-2 defeat
1 v leicester 2nd goal in a 2-0 win
1 v saints 3rd goal in a 3-0 win
1 v man city 1st goal in a 4-0 win
4 v bournemouth in a 6-3 win
1 v sunderland - 2nd in a 2-0 win
1 v spurs in a 3-2 defeat
1 v wba, 3rd in a 3-0 win
2 v hull, 3rd & 4th in a 4-0 win
2 v leicester 2nd & 4th in a 4-2 win
1 v burnley, 3rd in a 3-1 win

How many of them goals have been result altering?
If you include an equaliser vrs leicester in the 4-2. i count 6
Alot of his goals come when we are already winning. Especially the 2's and 3s v sunderland, bournemouth, hull, burnley etc. Basicly most teams at home, he gets his total up
