I posted this a while ago and i dont want to look like i'm jumping on the bandwagon of thinking lukaku is garbage now, but he never seems to score important goals

3 goals v sunderland - 3-0 win
1 v boro - 2nd goal in a 3-1 win
1 v palace 1-1 draw
1 v city - 1-1 draw
1 v west ham 2nd goal in a 2-0 win
2 v watford 3-2 defeat
1 v leicester 2nd goal in a 2-0 win
1 v saints 3rd goal in a 3-0 win
1 v man city 1st goal in a 4-0 win
4 v bournemouth in a 6-3 win
1 v sunderland - 2nd in a 2-0 win
1 v spurs in a 3-2 defeat
1 v wba, 3rd in a 3-0 win
2 v hull, 3rd & 4th in a 4-0 win
2 v leicester 2nd & 4th in a 4-2 win
1 v burnley, 3rd in a 3-1 win

How many of them goals have been result altering?
If you include an equaliser vrs leicester in the 4-2. i count 6
Alot of his goals come when we are already winning. Especially the 2's and 3s v sunderland, bournemouth, hull, burnley etc. Basicly most teams at home, he gets his total up

Those important goals however clinched us 11 more points and a European position.
Also having a striker that demands defenders to man mark creates opportunity and space for other players to score.

Just been listening to Rene Mulenstein, ex man utd coach. When asked the question about RL being a perfect fit at utd, he said definitely not. Saying his link up play and ability for a series of quick passes in the final third of play is poor.

Said it all along. When teams play against Chelsea, they will get 11 men behind the ball and sit back. This is when Rom is at his worst as there is no space, he will have defenders grappling with him and there are bodies everywhere. When it gets like that you either need short sharp passing (Hazard, Pedro, Sanchez, Fabregas) or the ability to hold the ball up and lay it off or win a free kick (Costa, Kane, Ibrahimovic).

Unfortunately, aside from the odd nice touch round the corner from Rom, he's not capable of either. Thats not to say he wont be in the future but right now he hasnt got the skill, touch or hold up play for the top teams. The comparisons with Drogba are laughable.

I am not convinced Mourinho wants Lukaku.
He sold him once alrady and I don't think Lukaku has sufficiently developed the areas the of his game that allowed Mourinho to let im leave Chelsea in the first place.

Lukaku is a world class finisher , he is greedy for goals and in a striker that is a good thing.
Mourinho , however wants a striker who will do so much more than score goals and Lukaku, although improving, still does not work hard enough for the team.

It is my belief that we will see Everton play in a slightly different, less Lukaku dependent way next season. I think this will happen and I firmly believe there is a very good chance he will be staying with us.

ah we are back to the "he's leaving so now I'll act like he wasn't that good anyway..."

Absolutely not. Only an idiot would say he's not been good

What we're saying is that he is a ginormous tit who has put more effort into forcing a move this month than on the field. We really needed him to stay but his attitude is dreadful, he doesn't want to be here, so SELL.

Best striker we have had in a generation and the club (and fans) should be screaming for him to stay.

Are there better strikers in the Prem, probably, his goal record is the best though and in a team with the 7th best players in the league. He's mostly played on his own - he is significantly better when he has a strike partner - hard for him playing 2-3 defenders on his own. His touch has improved under current management and coaching, how many times is he in a perfect position to receive a through ball and our players are not fast enough or clever enough to spot it? On the other hand, he's offside too much and does not get back "on" quick enough.

It is just an idle call to say he's lazy, don't watch the ball to him, watch the runs and space he creates. With a good or better creative midfielder, he'd be even better. And in case anyone did not notice, there are not that many strikers that regularly score against the top 6 - it is why they are in the top 6.

Agree I would bench him now and give the youngsters a chance. Look forward to next season and prepare for him not to be here, no big deal really
we get a load of cash and spend it wisely. I would even announce it at the last game steal his thunder over the pa " Thanks Rom you are always in our hearts " .

Agree with most of that apart from the last bit.

The club aren't doing anything like that.

He's our best player. He plays as we like to win games. That's it at the end of the day.

How can he be? The majority on here suggest he's not going to be missed!

It will be funny like if he does a Torres and literally just turns into a terrible footballer overnight when he moves clubs.

The absolute state of this ted, crying because the media said he won't joint Chelsea.

Any chances of loyalty off the club that has paid you in excess of £10m

And still a good portion of our fans want us to bend over backwards to keep him. Take £85 million and boot him out the door and bring in Dembele and Dolberg.
