He's a monster of a footballer - when he wants to be. That's why he'll never be a truly elite level footballer - he lacks the technique to be one for a start, but he also lacks the attitude. If it were Suarez, he'd be busting a gut and hurting at how things are, while Rom isn't arsed. That's the difference between a world class footballer and one who is just very good.

The only reason he stays is because we put our foot down and/or don't get an offer representing his value to us.
If he's here next season, it won't be through Lukaku's own choosing.
You actually don't want Lukaku in a possession based top side. He's an off the shoulder striker who excels in teams who play fluid, quick football.
He'd have scored 40 this season for Leicester. Problem is, not many top sides play like that, so it limits the clubs who will be interested in him - Barcelona won't touch him, for example.
He's looking at second tier clubs like PSG, and that's about as good as he can do really.
Hope we get a good fee for him, and buy a player who looks like he isn't doing the club a favour by playing for them when it suits him

He tried his beefy heart out in the semi. Very unfair on Rom this. He's played so many minutes for us, mostly as a lone striker, under an incompetent manager and with disinterested team-mates. Still he's bagged 25 goals this season. Better than Yak, even better than Cottee. Rom's our best striker since Lineker 30 years ago, who also didn't do much else but score.
He's not the scapegoat we're looking for.
