Romelu Lukaku

I can't be the only one that thinks him leaving might not be a bad thing?

Granted he has had a great season goal wise and has had to do it on his own for periods, but for me I wouldn't mind having a couple of strikers take his place. As for me he can be quite easily nullified by yard dog defenders.

For someone built like a cruiserweight I don't feel he uses his frame anywhere near as much as he should. Always wanting it in behind, and not being a great header of the ball don't really add up when you look at him.

Also although his goal record is good, he is in no way clinical and I think with some astute scouting we could make the most of any inflated fee we get for Lukaku.

For a starter for ten I wouldn't mind Bony if the price was right and perhaps *dons tin hat* Walcott. I think the ability to switch to a 442 would be handy next year and at present the other striking options don't fill me with confidence if Rom is having "one of those days".

Wouldn't touch Bony. Lazier than Yakubu.

As long as whatever fee we sell him for gets added to the 100 million that weve apparently got to spend then I dont mind seeing him go either. As others have said, if his head isnt totally in it then he can do one.

I would definitely go for Bony, holds the ball up ten times better than Rom will ever be able to and knows where the net is as well. He was on fire at Swansea and it was never really going to work out for him at City being second choice to Agüero.

Id also be tempted to take a punt on Ighalo, I know his season tailed off a Little bit towards the end but he looked a monster in the first half of the season!

Sounds like it could be that way. So what clubs would come in for him that are in for CL?

As mentioned I would say PSG (IMO Blanc will stay there and he could take Ibra's place), then I think some of the other big European clubs will have cash to spend especially when PL clubs will be throwing money abroad.

Yep, some very guarded generalisations there, with no reference to himself.

He had an opportunity to say "we'll prepare this summer and come back stronger", but didn't so I think that tells a story unfortunately.

I'd much rather keep him and buy a few top class players to play with him, as I think we'd struggle to attract another striker his calibre at the moment (unless Jose joins).

If we sell him for £60-70m though and our new manager has £100m to spend already, we could see a whole squad of quality come in.

His finishing is actually pretty poor if you think back over his 3 seasons here. Sure he's scored a lot but he's also missed a crap ton of pretty easy chances. I wouldn't take anything under £50-60m for him in today's market but confident he could be replaced. We were successful before him without a world class striker remember.

Given that Ibrahimovic is going, there was already a possibility that PSG might come in for him; now with suggestions from Diego Godin that Cavani might be joining Atletico Madrid, I think it's a dead cert that he's gone. A shame, especially given that Cavani would be a boss replacement, but this is the club that spent 50m on David Luiz; its going to be one hell of a summer

Er, hang on... Rom looked a monster first half and then tailed off in February - I'd rather keep Rom who we know all about.
And besides that, he ain't going anyway.

Not trying to sound funny mate, but must have missed that 'success'

Last time we have had a striker as good was when we had Sharpe/Lineker and Gray and that was the last time we had success, as honestly not counting finishing 5th-8th as success and none of us should do.

When Everton have actually enjoyed REAL success it has been with a top class centre forward.

Of course I would rather keep Rom if he wanted to be here but I think youre kidding yourself if you think he wont be off this summer.

The only way i could see him staying is if we actually got Jose as manager but thats a big if

Well as a young blue (born 1991) fighting for European spots is a success to me. Finishing 11th two years in a row with the best striker since Linekar is not.

All I'm saying is we can do well without him and we will.

Fair enough mate, im a lot older so have seen us be proper boss, keeping hold of the likes of Lukaku is the quickest way to get back their i'm certain of that

Honestly not kidding myself.
Have stated it a few times, that unless he actually submits a formal transfer request which would in all probability be turned down, I fully expect him to be here next season.

Well yeah, 'IF' he doesnt submit a transfer request maybe he will still be here. But he clearly doesnt want to be here, hes said so on multiple occasions now.

Id love to be wrong but I recon he will defo be submitting a transfer request and getting off to a champions league club sadly
