Actually, if he keeps up that ratio he on track for 36 goals. That's nearly a quarter of the season gone. 6 goals scored. On track for 24-25 goals, that's impressive.
Vardy, sure, so it's not a big list.
Don't know if you meant it this way, but I don't want to see us use him as a target man to hold up play. I want the ball passed in front of him, I want him running at defenders and slotting. That's his best chance.
You did say name a better striker this season, so i did.
What it comes down to is that most are OK with him turning up once in a blue moon to put in a half decent performance. Probably the same people that Naismith blagged recently with his Hat-trick. Riding on the crest of the wave of emotion from the last thing he did.
But he has a stake in that. He has to be part of the buildup, as opposed to waiting in the box for Del to put it right on his toe. He'd see a lot more action in the opposing half if he was able to trap the ball, pass it and move. I think he's well above average, but that part of his game seems very slow in developing.
I mentioned it here before, but my biggest fear is that if Lukaku leaves us, it will be on his reputation and strike-rate alone, which is fair enough. But I'd prefer him leaving on the crest of a career-defining season, where he's far more consistent and he takes that next step in becoming that player we all know he can be. If he could achieve even a measure of that consistency, we could be a top 4 side. Believe me, I want the lad to succeed, and I have nothing but confidence that he eventually will. I would just hope that will, at least partly, happen in an Everton shirt.
I was using Naismith as the example that people get carried away far too easily.Nope, I can tell the difference between Lukaku and Naismith. It's an ocean. "The same people", it's such a standoff statement, just agree to disagree mate, there's nothing wrong with that.
Lukaku's on track to get 25 goals this year, that's impressive, if he does nothing else all year I'll be satisfied with that.

Unbelievable that after all these years of waiting for a striker that slots with regularity we now have one and he gets stick! His record is amazing for a lad his age.
Thats not exactly truthful though is it. He has played 9 games this season and has scored in 3 of those games. One of which against a side 2 divisions lower. This is not an attempt to take away his goal scoring record at all but the stats are slightly warped. My definition of scoring on a regular basis would be scoring in more games as apposed to scoring multiple in one game.
