I don't know many players other than Ronaldo or Messi, or Kane last season, that slot regularly.

They all had a nice spread of goals, that's kind of what we're looking for. I've seen it said that even when he's crap, he can still pop up with a goal. But we know that not to be true. He has been invisible for entire games of football and will continue to be.

That being said, he's had a pretty good season so far. I genuinely thought his first 45 minutes last night were the worst I've seen from him in a long time. I defended him after Swansea, where I thought he was unlucky to have come up against an Ashley Williams who was having the game of his life. It's grand anyway, we'll stick Kone up there to control it for him in the meantime.

Even when he is crap we are still better having him in the team, his absence is huge whenever out, one of our most important players, and much better than shane long

He's comfortably the best striker we've had since the 80s. Puts the ball in the back of the onion bag and provides a physical presence up top.
Sure he has aspects of his game that he needs to develop but all the young players in our team do.

I don't reckon he's as good as Yakubu at slotting yet, but I may be biased because he had the greatest smile and goalscoring celebration known to man.

Haha opinions are everything like. I just think back to some of the goals he's scored and set up and go wow.
Take the game vs. Dinamo, the one where we got tonked 5-2. He blew me away with how he played, waltzed through players from the halfway line before sliding it through to Nais who slotted, later in the game he then curled one first time into the top bin.
His touch is clearly inconsistent but I have seen it improve over time, and it is a skill which can be worked on. If we're going to play him up top alone, players need to get forward and give him support as they place two on him and he gets isolated without an early pass or layoff to give.

Oh he will be better, don't get me wrong, I just have a soft spot for that boss 45 year old Nigerian slotter.

Thats not exactly truthful though is it. He has played 9 games this season and has scored in 3 of those games. One of which against a side 2 divisions lower. This is not an attempt to take away his goal scoring record at all but the stats are slightly warped. My definition of scoring on a regular basis would be scoring in more games as apposed to scoring multiple in one game.

I disagree. Rom is a striker who hasn't scored more than two goals in one game in the PL. Most of the times he only scores one. Which means that his goals are more evenly distributed than other strikers who sometimes score three or more in one game.
This year seems to become an exception with his three braces ... or perhaps this means he's going for 25-30 goals this season? One can but hope.

We need a striker who runs through brick walls for us and up and down dem channels all game. Then we'll complain that all he does is run the channels and doesn't wait in the box for tap ins. We need a player who's willing to die in a pool of his own blood, vomit and tears in the centre circle and who is dead dead proud to pull on the royal blue jersey.

...then, and only then, will his goals count.....

I love Lukaku, me.
