Romelu Lukaku

Newsnow have a link to a Telegraph article claiming that Loic Remy could be part of the deal. I've always rated him and would prefer him to the likes of Bony. You could file it with all the other speculative nonsense though.

Don't like Lukaku

Like Lukaku's goals

Tricky.

Is the conundrum we face... Rom and his goals are currently invaluable, however his attitude and at times meagre work ethic do not fit well with footie efficiendos in L4.

It pains me to say this, but someone should show him some video footage of how sodding hard Ian Rush worked.
Rushy as we know to our cost scored goals for fun, but by the left did he work his ar5e off too.

If Rom could add even half of Rushy's work rate to his game, then he might become close to priceless.

What the heck? Remy? Don't do this. Some guy makes up an article and one of the the clubs the non elite people go to have their careers morgued is part of a deal in his lazy journalistic mind and you say 'well hmm that could be good actually.' Just no. Think about it.

The reality is, if he doesnt want to be here, are we really going to get any more than 15 goals out of him this season? For 40 mill we can get 15 goals out of someone else, and use the rest to improve the squad. Talent is great, but will and effort go a long long way. The best of the best have both.

Sam Wallace of the Telegraph is pretty good though.

All paper talk this.. if there was a move in the pipeline I'm sure Lukaku, his Dad or his agent would be spouting off to the media.

£75m would be very difficult to turn down, RL is not worth that nor will Chelsea offer it.
With JS off, it just would send all the wrong signals for us to lose two platinum players in the same summer.
Goals are very difficult to replace and we would find it very very difficult to entice someone in the £50m+ bracket to take his place.

I'm puzzled at the amount of midfielders we are linked with, with the number of players coming in potentially, we should be looking at someone to come in alongside Lukaku, not replace him. Someone like Breel Embolo.
We are way too over-reliant on RL for goals, that is a big issue for Koeman to address.
