Romelu Lukaku

He's great counter-attacking striker when he has space in front of him, can run on defenders and finish easy chances.

He's not suited and never will be to lead the line for a team that plays posession football or even try to control the game, because if you play for that type of team you need to use your physicality, make clever movements, drag the defenders, make space for your teammates and often play with a back to the goal - that's all the things he's average in at best.

And that's it I think. The whole story of Romelu Lukaku.

Don't know why you bother - they aren't interested in what you are saying.

In their world, Lukaku is world class whenever he scores, and when he's terrible it's everyone elses fault.
Not, not interested, just don't agree with all of it, some of it, but not all...Just like Lukaku himself, some good points and some absolute gash ones

How is he better than DCL?

Pace - DCL
Strength - DCL shouldn't be but it is
Control - DCL
Heading - DCL
Aerial ability- DCL
Finishing - Lukaku
Hold up play - DCL
Skill - DCL
Decision making - draw
Movement - DCL
Good analysis that. I was just thinking how Rom stacks up against Stuart Barlow:

Pace - Barlow all day - very fast player
Strength - Barlow. Shouldn't be but we all know how Big Rom doesn't like to mix it with centre halves
Control - draw. Neither blessed with much ability in this department.
Heading - Barlow. Stuart won a few headers in his time.
Finishing - Lukaku
Hold up play - probably give this to Lukaku
Skill - draw. Neither man on the premises here.
Decision-making - Lukaku. Barlow not known for his decisiveness.
Movement - Barlow easy. Very mobile player.

So it's close, but breaking things down like this does lead to the inescapable conclusion that Barlow was the superior player.

Don't know how many times I sat there with half hour to go saying we need to get Barlow on, 10 minutes later shouting get him off. Remember Peter Beardsley putting him clean through for a one on one 3 times in one game, he well and truly lived up to his nickname Jigsaw. Don't think Rom would be amused being compared to him.

Probably the fact he’s scored hundreds more goals than DCL and has had more than a handful of good games in his entire career.

You are aware that DCL is 4 years younger than Rom aren't you? And that lukaku has played over 200 games more......

And that said.... DCL is already a better rounded footballer and target man than lukaku ever will be.

This made me laugh not cos it's humerous but because it's actually very true....

Lukaku reminds me of Ringo Starr ....Q "is ringo starr the best drummer in the world?" A: "he's not even the best drummer in the beatles"

It goes to show the insanity of people.... they will believe any crap that can be hyped. The music industry is full of lukakus .... one good album and a write up in NME secures then arrogant prick status forever.... take a bow Thom Yorke..... I've used your pretensiously spelt name in a lukaku post to define what overrated and egotistical looks like. That's Radioheads lead singer for anyone lucky enough to not know enough about them

Mate, I was with you until you took a shot at Radiohead. Stand down

And yet Lukaku was banging in 20 goals a season at the age DCL is now. I wonder why that was?
