Ronald Koeman discussion

The players stepped up, we as the crowd got behind them and we all won the game.

You can set a team up, but it's up to them if they step up. In all the 40 years of attending Goodison, even in the title winning years the crowd always reacted to passion and aggression. They showed it tonight, we backed them.

Remember a key moment just after all Arsenal's pass-it-around probing where we were standing off in the 1st 10 minutes.
Someone (probably Gana) put a slide tackle in in midfield.
The crowd sang like 5 or 6 songs on the bounce, full voice for the 1st time of the night.
Felt like we were trying to send a message "this is what we like to see".

The crowd got so much praise tonight from the players, manager and pundits.
The NBC Sports guys were saying along the lines of "Goodison, when it wants to be, is the most influential ground in all of English football. They decided tonight they wanted to be, the team finally responded".

Not that it's the fans fault, it's just that the team gave the crowd SOMETHING to cheer for for the first time in quite a while.

It was actually McCarthy.

He did that, and in the next move Barkley, McCarthy and Williams all put in huge tackles and Lennon went free down the left.

Just when you think your out they pull you back in. Absolutely love being a blue so glad the team finally shown some bottle. PLEASE RK stick with this side and more so to the players PLEASE show some pride and smash the kopites all over the place on Monday.

Any team needs to play with intensity to be successful.

We have lacked that for far too long.

Ronny has made mistakes, but showed today how he wants this team to play in terms of that aggression and that intensity.

This is where the signings then come in - he'll bring in players that are already suited to it - and that in turn means the players who haven't been up to scratch have to step up or they will be off.

Then, as the confidence grows and we have that basis in place, the quality will return - again this will be aided and sped up by bringing in better players for key areas to add competition and depth.

So, in short, we're gonna won the league

possibly some time in your lifetime.
