Ronald Koeman discussion

I'd still swap the two right now though

...I went to see them in Paris a month ago and the opposition was really poor, if he's struggling to appease in that league with the resources at his disposal it's not a good sign. I think it just shows how every manager comes with risk. I'm on the fence with Koeman, I've not enjoyed watching my team this season but we've been standing still for so long I'm prepared for a complete overhaul even if I disagree with how it happens.

....I notice Emery is under pressure at PSG and there are rumours the Board are already seeking a replacement. Funny old game, the man who was touted to join us is finding it difficult in a weaker league with significant riches at his disposal.

bit harsh, they're 7 pts from the top in 3rd having lost their most devastating player in the summer. Emery was hired as a European specialist...they've only got Barcelona in the Champs League knockout so could get interesting!

...they still have some fine players, the little Italian in midfield is outstanding, they have a big money CF and di Maria. Clearly the Board are restless, lots of links with van Gaal which seems odd.

I like Emery but he may be an upgraded version of Moyes. IE good at punching above his weight. Managing a top team is very different. That being said we are more Sevilla than PSG!

The other point I'd note is that there was a very strong network at Sevilla behind the scenes. Emery has left and the new guy has them 3rd (the Chilean fella who's name alludes me. I suspect Monchi is far more important to their success and if the chance came to get him in, even working alongside Walsh we should jump at it.

lol imagine if they put even more past us than they did last year?

imagine if we do them tonight as well? Like they go in with their title charge mentality and we thrashed them on the night?

holding on my Koeman derby opinion until after the event, two things in his favour:

- decent record with Saints vs RS
- he finally woke up vs Arsenal last week, nostrils flaring and all.

beyond all hope i'm feeling a mite optimistic

Aside from shipping 6 at home against them in the Mickey Mouse last season

Sevilla have Monchi
Southampton have Reed

Two Directors of football who seem to be first rate. When managers etc leave there they generally fail at their next clubs...the only exception being Poch that i can think of.

Same can be said about lots of their former players also.

You have to look at Reed's background to understand what an utter tool he is.
