Ronald Koeman discussion

Only it wasn't an assumption that we had money to spend, Moshiri stated he was going to provide additional funds for transfers himself.

Where we sit in the net spend table in the first week of August doesn't matter a jot mate.
Except we haven't spent any money of note. I hope you are correct about your assumption (which, in absence of any material evidence, I maintain it is) but the reasons given for a lack of progress are beginning to lose credibility. By the end of August we will be close to 10% through the league season, it will then take a while for new signings to make an impact. This is my concern and the concerns of other posters and these are not asuaged by your assertions.

The club actually havnt said a dickie bird about players have they?
I don't see that as any sort of defence, tbh. All we need to know is that statements have been made about throwing everything at Everton FC by the owner - and yet here we are with a week to go before a new season and we have a reserve GK and a lad relegated with Villa in through the door.

Regardless of whether we now go on to make marquee signings a lot of damage has been done to both Koeman's preparation and the reputation of the new regime.

Martinez era has left us as a club which top players don't think is an attractive proposition.

I'm by no means a fan of Martinez, but I think that's rather harsh. You can't blame our pre sesin failings on Martinez. We haven't been attractive for 30 years. In fact, he probably attracted the most prestigious player in a long time in Lukaku while he was here.

That doesn't mean to say we haven't got A LOT of work to do, though.

I wouldn't call all of them liars by any means. A lot of people are desperate to see a new dawn and are willing to repeat the mantra as a matter of goodwill. Those people have had their loyalty abused.
You may not, but I will, from Joe Anderson right down to posters on here who have been adamant money being avaliable. That is of course if there is no money avaliable.

Not Koemans fault the squad is broken, A lot of damage was done last season and regardless of how good or bad our current squad maybe, it's going to be a challenge to turn around martinez mes up.

However I'm still at a loss as to how we haven't addressed certain areas that are a glaring need before the start of the season. The players look like they are still sulking. Fresh faces and hope needed and soon.

We're waiting to sell. You know and I know it. Let's not kid ourselves.

Stones was always off anyway, so I doubt the money that was (allegedly) there was entirely from Farhad's personal account. Then there's the Tv moolah...As well as the freeing up of wages from players who've left.

Koeman is the only tangible evidence of progress made by the board.

And now they've left him out to dry

What if, he's fully aware of the offers made and and is prepared to wait for the outcome of those deals before moving on to the next rung of players, to be targeted?
Pogba might sign for utd, Mata then moves on, Juve sign their 1st choice mid (not Witsel) so he signs for us and so on.........?

Totally agree and I believe as with his predecessor action speak louder than words.
All the bravado and chest beating when we were first acquired has not helped the situation at all and expectations have been lifted.
God knows as long suffering fans it was something we lapped up.
So even after all this I'm willing to see how the next few weeks pan out.

Didn´t that all come from Kenwight as usual? Isn´t as simple as that the great majority of Evertonians were conned by Kenwright one final time, but this time on a scale even grander the the Kings Dock fiasco. Reckon we forgot for a moment that BK is a professional showman who´s been having Evertonians on for 15 years without breaking a sweat. Afforded the prop of Moshiri and his "billions" it was a gimme for old Bill. Have to respect his game, actually.

Let's all be patient and give the owner and the manager time to get things

I fully expect quality signings that will move the club forward, I have said in a previous post we are ambitious but the players we are going for are sitting tight in the hope bigger and better will come their way.

As with any manager first season will always be a transition period, I think we are seeing an approach of getting it right first time.....deadline day will be interesting

We seem to be doing a lot of waiting these days mate. We´ll wait ourselves into another 11th placed finish at this rate.
