Ronald Koeman discussion

Sold a pup?
I used that phrase last night, and was ridiculed for my efforts.
Nice to know that somebody else at least has similar thoughts.
I think he has a period of grace before I'd conclude that, tbh. But the summer so far - certainly after Koeman was secured - has been seriously underwhelming. Doubts are bound to creep in.

When Witsel moved to Zenit they paid his buyout of 40m euros for someone who'd cost less than 10 a season before and they raised his wage from around 15k pw to around 75k, that was them making a statement, they also bought Hulk a highly touted player for more by the same method.

Sorry but anyone who thinks it is that difficult to make a statement signing when you really want to do so, is not looking at reality.

Money for us is apprently no object anymore, well the situation in reality shows it is very much so, otherwise we would hav emade the statement we inteded to make already by now.

Making a statement by the cheapest method possible seems to be the idea right now

Koulibaly is on £20k ish a week at Napoli. Theyve waved a contract at him since Jan and hes rejected it...

If weve gone in and offered £120k then he would have signed by now

Weird how Koeman "the big name" manager was meant to attract top players

Perhaps players have just asked their mates about playing for him....and falling out with him.

When Unsworth took that game you could see real passion from the players.

Now we see defensive tactics and tumbleweed

Disagree City, UTD and Chelsea have.

On another, general football site I frequent, the Spurs supporters are fuming about lack of transfer activity.

That are saying Spurs have spent less than Bournemouth (I don't know how much either club have spent, just repeating what I read)

Further, those Spurs fans have been fuming since January when they believe a top class striker needed to be purchased to help Kane push them over the line in the title race.

Arsenal fans as well. They are raging at lack of transfer activity.

So EFC do not appear unique in disappointing the fans this summer.

That's what I was inferring when I mentioned about money talk being virtual, because player wise at least, nothing of note seems to have been forthcoming.

Spurs & Arsenal have better squads than us anyway (Apparently)

Those squads aren't in need of the players in as urgently as ours, playing devils advocate.

Say it quietly we're in the minority here.

I thought he was brought in to manage a football team. Do you not believe that Koeman was probably the best/biggest name manager would could have signed in our position?

Ultimately, the stature of our club cannot attract the players you want. Nothing to do with Koeman.

I'm almost certain the scores on the doors by September will show a very low net spend. Maybe even as low as £10m-£15m. Hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.
Dave your playing with numbers here. If we sell Lakaku and stones and re invest into 4/5 30m players which overall significantly improved the awad

Your speculating mate we simply have no idea and who knows what the next 2 weeks will bring. Seriously questioning mentality on here - he hasn't managed a competitive game yet!!

They want to push for the title and have champs league games.

We want to get up out of midtable.
