Ronald Koeman discussion

I thought he was brought in to manage a football team. Do you not believe that Koeman was probably the best/biggest name manager would could have signed in our position?

Ultimately, the stature of our club cannot attract the players you want. Nothing to do with Koeman.

I think Ronald Koeman is a rubbish manager

Those squads aren't in need of the players in as urgently as ours, playing devils advocate.

You may well say that and not without some justification,

But the fans of Spurs and Arsenal do not take the view that their squads do not need much improvement.

And they have Fumadores fuming about it the way we have :)

On another, general football site I frequent, the Spurs supporters are fuming about lack of transfer activity.

That are saying Spurs have spent less than Bournemouth (I don't know how much either club have spent, just repeating what I read)

Further, those Spurs fans have been fuming since January when they believe a top class striker needed to be purchased to help Kane push them over the line in the title race.

Arsenal fans as well. They are raging at lack of transfer activity.

So EFC do not appear unique in disappointing the fans this summer.
Spurs have a lot of positions covered as do Arsenal. Both sets of fans want to see top class signings as they feel they are only one or two away from finishing higher than they did last season.
We have a group of players bereft of creativity, confidence and strength who finished 11th last season and without Lukaku's goals would have been lower. There has been no indication that that will change on Saturday either.

I thought Martinez was a rubbish manager when he had Wigan relegated. Then he proved me wrong. Then he proved me right again. Just wait and see what he does with the players in competitive fixtures over the course of a season. He might surprise you.

If we threw serious serious money at these players they'd be here. It's all about money and that's unfortunately the truth. We clearly aren't offering the wages that it takes to attract top players.

And if were not prepared to do that then we won't be successful, and the owner will have let the fans down.

I very much doubt it....gone within 2 years..

Stek
Gueye
Gibson

None are even remotely top end players. Even as squad players we should be looking at far better...

Its looked more negative if anything.

Certainly far worse than unsworths match

It is a hard sell for us to convince the higher calibre player to join, but if the pieces fall into place, then ok.
I can understand frustration at lack of signings 'right here, right now', but am prepared to see what happens.
I'm glass half full, so optimistic and would rather get players for the next few seasons, than the next few games.

What are you on about? How does your "getting players for the next seasons" differ from just plain old signing players? Usually new signings don´t sign a contract just for a couple of games, do they.
