Ronald Koeman discussion

We are no pushover this season and even in games we are not playing well we can get something out of them. Bit of realism here . We are 7th with a mid table squad. When we add a few more players we should then expect to improve further. We have a manager who speaks his mind and is trying to get the best out of the players available.

He's got us playing some wonderful football and really strengthened the mentality of our lads.
I hope he leaves the existing squad intact ( ie we don't hurt players' feelings by dabbling in the transfer window)
We are so close to challenging for honours and the existing squad members deserve an opportunity to hold aloft silverware....players like Gibbo and Aiden and Arouna and Oumar should be given every opportunity to fulfill that destiny

Happy new year to you too mate x

well it's easy to spot when you go quiet mate.

C'mon, you're a good blue. But it's good to talk positive with you.

Koeman got it wrong today, for the first time in a while actually. The players didn't perform but that was a result of poor team selection.

It happens. We move on. He hasn't had enough time, yet.
I understand where you're coming from but I genuinely find his decision making worrying. The signing of Williams has actually compounded matters in the defense, we've now got two old defenders who are not commanding and lack pace instead of one. As a unit they are playing too deep because of this.

He persists in playing Barry who is simply not the type of player who can deal with the pressing game and to be fair has no chance of covering the gaps between defence and midfield. He's also given him an extra year on his contract when he shouldn't have done.
He's failed to play the younger players to any extent when it was clear last season that a number of them were ready to play some part. This would have freshened the team up and enabled us to play a pressing game.

In short so far it's been highly unimpressive and he needs to start learning from his mistakes and stop being so conservative with his team selections. There's a bit of an improvement in the last few games with giving the younger players more of a chance, let's hope he's continues and is a bit bolder in this regard. Finally for gods sake please no more older players we need an injection of youth & energy!

I think when we signed Williams, he was hoping to add another centre back. We were looking at Abdennour from Valencia and Kone at Sunderland.

I thought we would get Kone and that Jags might go the other way. In the end, our summer dealings were a bit calamitous. Not sure how much that is Koeman's fault, especially when we have a director of football.

3 wins in the last 15 games.

That is appalling.
On the positive side though. We are currently only one single league home win away from matching your beloved's phenomenal record from last season and its only the half way point of the season. BTW very little feels appalling about Everton anymore because we redefined awful last season at Leicester and Sunderland. Ironically two places we've won this season!

What's the point of quoting all that?

Am I wrong in what I say? No.
Your enjoying every second of all this. Every single defeat you crawl out of the woodwork and revel in everyone's misery. Yet after wins your very rarely seen. Kopites enjoy our defeats less then you do. I used to think you were just a WUM but now I'm half convinced your simply a GOT creation designed to have us all fuming at your idiocy and hypocrisy. It's either that or your a symbol of everything that is wrong with are current fan base who enjoy the fume of defeat way more then the thrill of victory.

Beaten by Norwich, Bournemouth, Burnley, Southampton, Watford, and humiliated by Chelsea is embarrassing.
I was way more embarrassed by the Chelsea and Bournemouth pathetic surrenders last season. Ditto for the games vs West Ham and Stoke. Or how about the mauling's we took at the slum, at home to Utd, away at a half pissed Leicester and Sunderland. I could go on about other embarrassments we suffered last season and the one before under Martinez but I don't think you and the other people who decided you hated Koeman before he'd even started would care about actual facts.
