Ronald Koeman discussion

Better. Not been a fan of the turgid performances, but Davies energy seems to be a reprieve from that. Good show from Koeman in recognizing that and showing trust in the boy.

Still think we need to keep it on the deck a bit more, but the glimmers of hope are there. I remain unconvinced, but hopefully with some new signings to freshen up our midfield and attack...and defense.

Still think the previous 2-3 months were diabolical, but I'm willing to accept that if we start to hum. Difficult month ahead without Gana.

I've been saying it from the start, this is going to take time

I always thought it would be difficult for him to crack the top 6 this season. This season IMO was about stabilising us after two very poor league campaigns and getting us ready again for a proper challenge in 17/18

I'll accept a top half finish and a cup run this season, provided it leads to better the next season

Underwhelming though it is, it would at least be better than the previous two seasons and would represent a step in the right direction

Yes. Absolutely.

I don't think we knew the full extent of the shambles that Koeman was met with. The Club needed a disciplining force from top to bottom let alone improvements in the foot togger area, in my view.

Not one person has said 3 years of 7th will be a success. Once again, you're twisting things to suit your own obvious agenda.

Undeniably, 7th would be clear progress this season and hopefully even a return to Europe. If he manages that whilst still moulding the squad then he has done a good job. But next year, like all of us, i'd expect us to be much more serious challengers at the top end of the league.
I probably should have used the word 'acceptable' rather than a success.

Who was it on here the other week absolutely ridiculing the idea of Eddie Howe as next manager. Bournemouth play with a pace and intensity that we can only dream of.

I think he'll be the man once Ron gets the boot/ups sticks for someone like Galatasaray.

3-2 mate

Imagine if someone put together a youtube clips video of his best bits here at Everton. They'd be offering Enrique 10 times his current salary to stay on.

Well he was an assistant to Van Gall at Barcelona.Let's face it i doubt the head chiefs at Barca would exactly be hotfooting their way to Brussels to try and persuade Mister Martinez to come to the Nou Camp any time soon.lol Ronald Koeman is a long way off being manager of Barcelona material but i think he would get further ahead in the application process than Roberto Martinez.Who knows by the time he's finished here you could be eating your words.;)

He's getting further and further from flash in the pan/flavour of the month. We'd be a perfect size step up too. And he's a bloo.

Agreed, I wouldn't be shocked.
