Ronald Koeman discussion

From top to bottom it smacks of mediocrity.

We have a mediocre owner, mediocre chairman, mediocre manager and mediocre players apart from Lukaku who will be off in the summer if he has any ambition whatsoever.

The club is in a mess and it will cost a fortune to sort it our and even then, this doesn't guarantee success. Man U have spent billions since Ferguson retired and only now do they look the real deal.

Anyone that thinks Koeman will win us major trophies are deluding themselves. He is tier 3 of management, whilst the likes of Ancelotti, Pep and Mourinho are tier 1.

And do you honestly believe RK would be here if he was tier 1 anyway? Would you go to Everton and work with BK and the fake Mosh when you could go to Man U or City where their owners actually put money where their mouth is?

Do one Ev. Another ruined weekend cheers.

Goodbye derek

Good grief.

I'm a little confused,is this the squad since the 80's that Martinez couldn't get the best out of or a terrible squad that Koeman has to work miracles with. Pretty much the same players.
But older in a much improved league. Where was Spurs 3 years ago? Liverpool had Rodgers, West ham last year was competitive, Southampton improved in that time league wise, on top of the usual suspects who have improved themselves.

Thst is the difference, our team stagnated, most of our first 11 are either no better than who they replaced or are still there with no competition, only Gueye has come in and made an improvement, which we then pair him up with a player who lowers his game after it haha

Mind numbing football? Lol. It may have been a grind when teams sat deep like the cowards they are, but I doubt Martinez will ever be associated with dull football by anyone in the football world other than a bitter core of Evertonians who now have egg on their faces having seen another manager come in and fall on his arse with the most embarrassing bunch of hoofball seen at GP since Smith and Moyes were killing pigeons on an industrial scale.
I am as dissappointed as every body else,However Leicester are the current league champions and are in the last . 16 of the champions league. We on the other hand are a team who have just finished in the bottom half of the league on 2 consecutive occasions with an ageing squad of limited ability. We have not got a God given right to expect to win today, and this will continue until Ronald has had time to rebuild the shambles he was left. I respect most people's opinions but yours with a pinch of salt, its almost 12 months to the day that you predicted that leicester would fall away dramatically from the top of the Prem, the rest is history, 72 points and some

You say he's a poorly performing manager. Where do you think this squad should be ?
Don't expect miracles at this stage but expected to see a clear improvement over Martinez by now.
More points on the board (same position), a run in at least one of the cups and signs of an emerging style of play from motivated players would have been nice.
He still has until the end of the season though for me.

The only part I got angry about what you referring to my club as " Ev". Au revoir you dirty little beast.

I though you were joking on Lukaku.

I really don't rate him. Just to clarify, I think we were right to sack Martinez and, with the exception of a genuinely exciting first season, his tenure here should be considered a failure. I just think it would be misguided to keep blaming Martinez until Koeman gets it right. He may never do and all that does is blind us to Koeman's legitimate shortcomings as a manager. We have the guts of a good team, just no guts, and it will take 2 or 3 players with quality and character in key positions to amend that.
